When I am alone
When I've no one to turn to
Not even my shadow.
You were there
When I am sad
When the smile is rare
And not within my grasp.
You were there
When I am proud
When the fame is around
You keep my feet in the ground.
You were there
When I am happy
When laughter is abundant
And were scattered everywhere
You were there
My friend
My best friend
The closest stranger in my heart.
