Missing Me, Missing You

You say 'I miss you' through the phone

A smile shows in my face

Without really intending it to appear

I guess I remember you saying it

Like old times, when you were beside me.

I close my eyes and sigh a breath

Before I say 'I miss you too'

God, why am I not over you yet?

It's been so long I'm so tired of the feeling.

When you say those words

It seems like they mock me

Since what you mean is in a friendly way

Unlike me, still holding on to a forgotten promise.

Because I miss you, so much

It hurts that tears my heart apart

If only you feel the same way again

And stay, never to leave my side.

It isn't right to keep holding on, I know

It is wrong to miss you like this, I know this too

But whenever you say you miss me as well

I can't help my self but return the words.

I don't know how long I can do it

But I promise to play my part as best as I could

Until the day, that I'll feel the same

And say honestly 'I miss you, my friend.'
