The same fear that corrupted Jonathan the day prior filled Ash to the brim. Never had she felt so much fear for what comes ahead. Well... There was of course that one time. The last time she saw her mentor. Adam was his name. He was standing in front of this door for the exact same reason Ash is here now. That day... 2 years ago...

"Ashlynn?!" a man yelled towards a brunette girl crouched in pain on the floor. Blood pooled around her as she struggled to stand. "Ashlynn!" He hustled to more closer, to see what happened to the poor girl. He crouched down and looked the girl in her eyes. Her green eyes glistened from the mass of tears collecting in her eyes, only to drip slowly towards the ground. Once more she tried to stand only to fall back down onto her stomach. "Stop rushing yourself. Stay down." Talking through his cigarette, he ran a hand through his grey-streaked hair. 'What the hell am I going to do...?'

"Adam...?" the girls hoarse voice whispered out. "I'm so sorry..." Adam pushed her on to her back, and examined the wound. A huge, deep gash lay across her stomach. Blood gushed out of the wound and dripped softly on the the ground where the ground soaked it up.

"Don't be. We'll get you home soon. Say, tell me what happened," he said while unwrapping the bandage he always kept around his right thigh.

"I should have been stronger... I should have been able to fight him off..." the girl's clutched her fists. "I should have been able to..."

"Ashlynn, if you keep up this mindless talk, I'm never going to understand what happened here." He moved to put the bandage around the girl's torso, carefully pulling her up to wrap it around her back.

"I was searching for information around here, and having already searched around the area, I didn't suspect a thing when I didn't find anyone lurking in the shadows..." She hissed in pain as Adam worked the bandage around her body. Her quietly apologized and she continued with a shaky voice. "There was a surprise attack... He jumped out when my back was turned and when I turned around, it was too late... I manage to fire at him quickly, so he's dead, but my stomach wasn't as lucky as my aim..."

"Don't strain yourself, now." Now with the bandage tightly secured around her body, Adam laid her back on the ground. The blood from the wound already began to seep through, staining the dirty fabric red. "I want you to stay here as I go and make a call. Hopefully, Sam hurries up with the helicopter." He moved away from the bandaged girl to leave the room. Of course he made his call, but after that, he wanted to plan ahead to what was going to happen. He knew he wasn't going to last long at this rate. He knew that his good friend, also known as the Head, would not be happy when he finds out what happened here. He knew the consequence of the way he teaches. He knew, but yet, he was glad, even though his student was hurt, that he got to meet her and teach her. He was glad that he spent as much time as he could with Ashlynn, before this tragic event happened. He was...

'I'm sorry, Ashlynn. I really am... I wish I could have been there for you...' Before he continued, his phone went off, signaling that Sam was there to pick the pair up.

Ash recalled back on the painful memory. She, of course, was the injured girl all with the green eyes and brunette hair. All of that happened before she dyed her hair, before she started to feel insecure. A few weeks after Adam left, she didn't want to ever be the same 'Ashlynn' Adam knew. She felt horrible and guilty for everything. She honestly blamed herself and she didn't want to be that girl that ruined everything. She changed her hair color, out in contacts, and changed her entire wardrobe. She thought if she became like a whole new person, she wouldn't feel guilty anymore. She would hate the old her and not the the new, but for Ash, that wasn't the case.
