I was holding on good until the video of my extraction got played. The Ranger squad who found me were shown dragging a beaten and mangled body from the dilapidated building before rocket launches made it explode.

I felt myself slipping. I can't do this. Not here. They can't see my "other" side. I need to snap out of it.

"Sage? Sage!? SAGE?" The voice broke through to me about the time I had my 45 caliber Smith and Wesson pointed at the flat screen TV.

"Shit...." I muttered before taking off for the elevator.

I was successful until I felt a very cold and another warm arm trapping me in the elevator. He quickly hit a button to make the elevator go down. He hit another one to stop it completely.

My breathing had escalated. I don't want to hurt any of them. "Breath. In. Out." A unknown voice whispered in my ear as I was forcefully pulled into someone's hard chest. I focused on the man's heartbeat until my chest stopped pounding.

I slowly glanced over to see a metal arm with a red painted star.

Bucky.

He held me firmly against him. His human hand threading through my long brown hair and the other on my back keeping me against him.

I had resulted in hugging him. I didn't see anything else better to do.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to cause trouble as soon as I arrived." I mumbled into his chest unsure if he heard me or not.

"Trust me, doll. I understand. PTSD is a real friendship killer. They understand too. We will help you. Do you know who I am? I am the only monster here." He said with sadness laced in his voice.

It kind of pissed me off that he called himself a monster. Damn I wish all "monster" looked like him.

I pushed those thoughts away and glared up at him, "A monster wouldn't be helping me right now. Yes, the Winter Soldier was not the best guy, but James Barnes is amazing." I slightly pulled away. Before he engulfed me in a hug. He gently felt over the brace on my back and the bandages around everything else.

"You don't even know me---."

"It doesn't matter If I know you or not. You don't know me either and look where we are." I interrupted him before we both pulled away enough to look each other in the eyes.

"Well said, Ms. Sage." He slightly smiled down at me. He might have hugged me, but his smile is the best thing I have seen in a while.

Bucky is perfection. If you don't like the story, vote for him and not me.
