requested by laurapxige im not sure if this is what you wanted but i really imagined Sid to be like a skittish dad with a newborn
You seemed happier when they finally released you from the hospital, baby carrier in hand and your husband chasing behind you. The white and many pastel colored walls sickened you, you just wanted to get back to the warm interior of your home.
Your house -a white wooden two story that looks like it was straight out of a country movie- sits in the middle of a clean cut pristine neighborhood, and you couldn't be happier with the renovations made to the nursery. When you and Sidney found out it was a boy, he freaked, because now you owed him ten dollars, and he was hoping you would have a boy first.
The first thing he did was buy the baby a Penguins jersey.
They second thing he did was to make sure that the baby's room was everything you wanted. Grey walls, blue and white decor, and the baby's name on the wall- Patrick spelt out in wooden letters.
When you first stepped into the house after being discharged from the dreaded hospital, a whole pack of people were there waiting for you- more so Pat than you. Sidney had no clue that his parents flew out or that his teammates were going to be over, he looked uncomfortable carrying the car seat while everyone surrounds him trying to get a good look at the child.
You were tired, you wanted to lie down without worrying about the baby and now seemed like a good time, and you booked it out of there as soon as possible. With a shower and a fresh pair of clothes, you were out for at least an hour before you could feel the surroundings around you.
The rustling of Sidney trying to change in the dark, and the ominous silence that you only got when you were still pregnant follows. "Where's Patrick?" You whisper, not wanting to disturb the peace around you.
"Funny story actually," He starts, "Taylor set up camp next to his crib. Apparently she is some sort of baby genius and they all love her. She volunteered to take care of him tonight." You let out a sigh of relief, if it wasn't for his sister, neither of you would've gotten any sleep.
"Hey Y/N?" Sidney checks if you're awake, and you hum in response. "We are waiting a while until we have another one right?" He asks as he starts getting under the covers.
You glare in his general direction, "I can't believe you are thinking about that right now."
You could feel him shrugging as he wraps his arms around your waist, "Can't blame me for trying."
"Let's survive the first one Sid."
