"Jason?" You shout into the abyss of trees, the fir was everywhere, and your boyfriend was no where to be found. You wanted to pick a tree and get out of here, because you had so much to do. Jason scored his first NHL goal a couple says ago, and he volunteered to throw the Christmas party this year.

The party was tonight and you had yet to pick or decorate the tree, you were cold -it was only 42 degrees outside but you weren't used to it- and still had to dress up enough for a bunch of professional athletes.

You were so used to the Texas Stars roster, they were more comfortable with you, and less intimidating.

"I'm serious Jase, stop playing." Jason was known to pull pranks on you and it wasn't a shock if he was hiding only to scare you in the end.

Fast footsteps behind you make you whirl around, and there stands your boyfriend, huffing and puffing, "Okay, Christmas dinner officially ruined me." He leans on you and tries to catch his breath, "Sorry I got lost, but I think I found the perfect tree."

You gesture for him to lead the way, and he does but not before he puts his hands over your eyes, claiming, 'its extra perfect, so perfect its a special secret.'  You didn't fight him, instead you let him lead you through the terrain with no sight whatsoever.

"Okay I'm going to let my hands leave your eyes, but keep them closed until I'm ready, alright?"

"Alright." You nod firmly, squeezing your eyes shut.

You hear rustling, and the thud of something dropping on the floor and Jason cursing to himself. "Shit, not ready so not ready." He mutters, and you have the urge to open your eyes, but you keep your promise to him.

"You know what, fuck it." You hear him say, "Okay you can open your eyes now." You open your eyes to see not a tree but Jason, on one knee in front of you, a gleaming ring in front of you. "Okay so I was going to hang this on a tree, and make you check the tree to make sure you like it and all until you find this. But it fell because I am terrible at knotting string, and I was so nervous, my hands were shaking, but God, I love you Y/N. I want to spend the rest of my life with you, and I have no hesitation, no nervousness about that. So will you marry me?"

You were in tears right about now, and you couldn't help it. You were nodding frantically, sobs slipping past your lips as you drop to you knees and hand him your left hand. "I will, I want to marry you too."

Once the ring was on, you didn't hesitate to give him a deep kiss, the passion in your relationship showing through one simple action. You were feeling a lot of emotions, but once you both came up for air, you realized you spread out on the floor next to your tree, the quoted 'extra perfect' tree, and you both couldn't help but start giggling.

You didn't want this moment to stop, you both were still lying on the floor, your head on his chest, and his arms around you. But Jason being Jason, he had to ruin the moment,

"You know, we probably have bugs crawling all over us right now."

okay guys he is literally the sweetest person ever, i was at the game where he scored his first goal and i stayed late waiting for my aunt to get out of all the traffic to pick me up and he walks out all calm and cool and then suddenly he screams and celebrates like he was keeping a cool front the entire time, thinking he is alone and celebrates for like ten seconds and goes back into this cool front, most adorable thing ever. i swear. and then he notices me with a group of people and then he's like 'oh shit' and blushes. cutie
