On his rendezvous around the city, Takahiro finally arrived on a quiet path where he could see the whole city. He looked at the blinking light of the city as he walked. It brought a smile on his face to think about how beautiful the city was; as he had always fond of beautiful and peaceful nature view. And the solitaire feeling of the place had actually brought peace to him, comforting him in its own way.
Thewind then blew gently, blowing the bangs that almost covered his eyes from hisforehead. But his ears quickly captured a faint voice. He turned his gaze to themain path that was leadingup-hill; hiscautiousness hadsomehow raised. He hadbeen dealt with many things before, including the unseen creatures to ordinarypeople's eyes. So he had prepared himself to face everything that would come. He then stepped further.
But as he walked more, he could hear the voice clearer. It was a singing voice of a woman. For Takahiro's note, the voice was soft; and something within the voice had given him a soothing feeling. Of course, it was different from the hypnotic type of voice that he had faced before. The voice was comforting in a certain way. Out of curiosity, he walked to the source of the voice.
He walked and walked until he arrived on an opening space like a balcony. It was when he stopped his steps.
The place seemed like a gathering place with few benches and trees. Perhaps in the daylight, the place was filled with people who liked to view the city. But in the night time like this, it became a quiet place without people around, except for a girl who was singing while leaning on the low rock wall that surrounded the place as a fence.
The girl was wearing a soft purple kimono with soft pink sakura motive that length down a little bit below her knees. A big soft pink ribbon was attached on the back of her obi belt. Half of her long black hair was tied into a bun with a silver bodkin holding the hair up on its place. She was resting her hands on a silver walking stick in front of her and Takahiro could see if her eyes were closed.
But her face... what could Takahiro say about her face?
Therewere definitely plenty girls who had prettier face than her. But Takahiro couldcategorize her look as a natural beauty with small and rounded face. Her figurewas small and slender with a height that definitely shorter than him; around ahead shorter even when she stood up straight. Furthermore, the girl seemed enjoying themoment when she sang. So Takahiro couldn't help but tothink if she was beautiful.
Intrigued, Takahiro decided to approach. But once he stepped, the girl suddenly stopped singing and her expression grew cautious.
"Who is there?" she asked in cautious voice without even turning her gaze.
For a moment, Takahiro was contemplating whether he should reveal himself or run away. But he felt the urge to know the girl more; something from her had poked his curiosity. "Forgive me. I don't mean to bother you. I just happen to pass by." He apologized.
The girl dropped her cautiousness after hearing his voice. "Ah, sou."
As her expression had become gentler, Takahiro decided to come closer. "Your voice is good," Takahiro praised as he approached. He stopped beside the girl and then realized if the girl was blind. But her clear eyes were captivating.
The girl chuckled. "Thank you so much." She turned her face slightly to Takahiro. "Are you coming from out of town?"
"Yes, I am. I just arrived in the afternoon."
A gentle smile bloomed on the girl's face. "You must be here for the Festival, right?"
Her guess was not entirely correct. But Takahiro didn't feel obligated to tell her his real purpose. So he only replied, "Yes."
