From the rooftop of the Gekidan building, Lia saw the boat sailing away with Gail and Lopka. Lopka was standing while Lia sat on the rail of the balcony and Gail was looking through her binoculars. The three of them were actually feeling bad not to send the group away. But it was probably the best way, especially for Lia.
Last night, she had guessed that Atsushi might have been asking her to go with him if she didn't cut him off. She realized that it might be hard for her to say no if he asked her. She didn't deny that a part of her wanted to go with him. But she also realized that they had their own responsibility. It was why she decided to stay apart from him.
"Ah, I saw Takahiro waving and smiling at us."
Gail's words suddenly broke her thought. She lifted her gaze, looking at the girl. The younger girl lowered her binoculars.
"Does he know that we're looking at them?" She asked out of curiosity.
Lia smiled to hear it. "Perhaps. Takahiro's sight is one of his advantages as an archer. He has eyesight like an Eagle."
"Heee... he's great." Gail then returned to her binoculars again.
"Lia." This time, Lopka gained her attention.
"Hmm?"
"Is it fine for you not to come with them?"
Lia smiled gently and replied, "It's fine."
"There's a chance that you might not get to see him again, you know?"
Lia shook her head slowly. "No. I'm sure that I will see him again." She smiled. "Because we are family."
To see her certainty, Lopka could only smile.
But then, the girls turned their gaze as they heard light footsteps approaching. The footsteps were familiar for them as it was Maya's. Maya was the one who taught them arts and music. She was also a famous entertainer and a great dancer, just like Lia. But lately, she often stayed low and rarely gave out a performance.
For the girls, Maya acted like their guardian after the disappearance of their Master. The temple where they lived was belonged to Maya before she left it onto the girls' care. Maya was also the one who gave the directions of their missions.
It was why. When they saw the woman stopped before them, their expression dropped and became serious.
"Hello, Girls. It's good to see you all again." And without further notice, she said, "I might have a hint about Max's whereabouts."
