Darkness...
It was darkness when she opened her eyes, with a feeling as if she had awakened from a long slumber. She was remembered that it was also darkness that became her first memory thirteen years ago. However, although the darkness was engulfing her, she felt comforting and safe, as if she was protected within the darkness. She remembered that she felt never wanted to leave that darkness. But she could then hear a woman's voice chanting words of spells from behind her.
She turned and her breath halted for a while.
As far as she could remember, she was supposed to be drawn out from the darkness when she heard the chanting words; it was a spell that she had learnt afterward.
However, now, before her eyes, she could see a rectangle shape that seemed like a screen floating mid-air and showing a scene where a woman with high bun hair-style came to the view, welcoming her. The woman talked to her then withdrew herself for a while before returning again with a man.
Turning her gaze, she saw another screen with scene playing, showing a path in a forest as she walked. And when she lifted her gaze, a man talked to her and made her turning her gaze to her front. It was when two young girls approached and introduced themselves. Further behind, she saw various screen displaying variety scenes that were very much familiar for her, including those ones with a man and a woman, and a young boy who very much familiar for her.
"They are all memories...,"
A woman's voice was heard. It was a familiar voice; she could still remember hearing it when the voice was chanting spells. She turned and saw a lady in white attire and a high bun hair-style approaching; she was the same woman as the one on the first scene. The lady stopped on her side with her gaze fixed to the floating screens that were now surrounding them and continued her speech.
"...Of twenty years' life."
Because of those words, she turned back to the floating screens. Of course, she knew to whom those memories are belonged. "I see."
"But I have never expected to see you this soon. Was the dragon so hard to defeat?"
She scoffed gently in amusement. "Not really. I was just careless. Besides, I couldn't take the glory from those guys, right?" And just like before when she first met her, the glorify air from the woman had made her bowing her head. "Lady Megumi," she mentioned the lady's name.
The lady gently smiled at her. "But I am pleased to know that he has finally found you."
She nodded. "So it was you who have sent him to me. I should have guessed it."
"But family's bond is bound to be so strong. You two are eventually meant to see each other. I only accelerated the process."
"I'm thanked you for that." She then seemed to be in thought. "But it still takes more than ten years. I do not think that it accelerated."
The lady scoffed. "Sarcastic as ever. I do not know since when you have developed the habit."
She grinned apologetically. "I'm sorry."
The lady nodded and smiled. "So I was lucky." She then turned to her. "But have you sensed that man's power?"
She nodded again, knowing whom she was meant. "Although it seems distant, the root of his power seems to be very similar with ours. Who is he actually?"
The lady smiled again in a secretive way. She seemed to know something but kept it from her. "I will leave that part for you to find out."
Those words made her sighing. "Hah, just I've thought. Now I remember that you have always been like this ever since I know you. Knowing something yet keeping everything, making it hard for another."
