Hiro was walking in the middle of nowhere. It's not because he didn't know where he was, but because he couldn't see anything. The place was seemed to be covered by thick mist. His swords were on his both hands. He felt that he was fought before. But as he looked around, he couldn't find any corpses around him. He then closed his eyes and sharpened his instinct, trying to sense any life sign around him. Again, there was not life sign detected around him. It seemed that he was all alone.
He then heard a bell cringing.
'Clang.'
He opened his eyes suddenly.
'Clang.'
The bell was heard again. Hiro turned and saw no body behind him. The mist was too thick for him to see any farther. But he was sure that someone was there with him.
'Clang.'
Another sound of bells was heard. Then a shadow of a lady figure appeared behind the mist; it was approaching. Hiro raised his sword, preparing himself for any kind of possibility.
As the shadow came closer, the mist then parted like a curtain, revealing a lady who was dressed in white sleeveless kimono dress, with white shawl across her shoulders. Her hair was arranged on buns like a Japanese woman; with some loosen hairs on her back. The lady was very charismatic and beautiful at the same time. Her skin was pale white. Although he knew that she had a great power within herself, Hiro strangely didn't felt any threat or harm coming from her. Hiro lowered his sword.
"Who are you?" Hiro asked.
A gentle upward tug appeared on corners of her lips. "I was the master of this sanctuary," the lady said as she lifted her hand to the side. Her voice was soft but sounded majestic, making Hiro to think if she wasn't an ordinary person.
Hiro then saw that the mist started to fade; as if the lady had ordered them to perish. Only by then, he could see some wooden ruins around him. It seemed that a large building had stood once on the place where he was standing now. Judging from some parts, it seemed that the large building was a Japanese mansion before; or a sanctuary as the lady said. There were traces of fights and the place was seemed to be destroyed. It made him wondering what had happened. Hiro looked back to the lady.
"What had happened?" he sounded out his thought.
The lady turned her body to her right and started to walk. "Once, there was a sanctuary stood on this place. The magic holders were gathered here to live and to shelter. Not much to say about them. But then they were perished by an evil being who they once called friend."
Hiro then realized that the great power sensation from the lady was actually a heavenly spirit's sensation. And she might not be a living one. "Are you—"
But he was stopped by an agreement smile from the lady. From his past experience with mystical matters and non-human beings, he realized that spirits could be dwelling in the world if they were still had unfinished businesses.
"But why are you here? Do you have any unfinished business?"
The lady smiled softly. "I have actually unchained myself from this world since long before, as my mortal form dispersed." Her expression then became serious. "But I do have one concern."
"What's that?" Hiro asked again.
A soft heave escaped from the lady's lips. "There is one young lady. She was once my pupil. Within her, she bears great power which leads her to great misery in such a very young age. It is my wish for her not to be burdened."
