Chapter Five:

Aurora laid back thinking about her day as they drove to Damon’s house. Katherine had revealed many disturbing things. The dagger, Elena, Elijah. Too many troubling things swirled in her head. But if Elijah was working against Klaus, then she could not let Damon kill him. He obviously had a plan, and that meant he was one step ahead of her. Except she needed Elijah dead to free Katherine, unfortunately she could not leave her behind. She wondered how Damon would react if he knew they were friends, if he knew their past, if he would be mad. Aurora held her head in her hands, so much stress.

“What is wrong aurora?” Damon asked.

“Nothing, just a little stressed” aurora smiled at him.

“Tell me” Damon urged her.

“I know you're going to kill Elijah, but couldn’t we use him? Wont we need him to kill Klaus?” aurora tried to reveal as little as possible, she could not let her love blind her.

“We will figure out his plan before we kill him, dont worry we already thought of that” Damon smiled at her. Aurora smiled back but what he said did not soothe her, there was still so much he didn’t know. She could not warn him about the dagger yet, she couldn’t explain how she knew. She rubbed her temples gently, she had too many secrets right now. They pulled up to the house, pulling her out of her thoughts. Damon took her hand as they walked into the house. Surprisingly Stefan and Elena were there, talking with Bonnie.

“Hey” Bonnie smiled as they walked in. “Perfect timing”

“Perfect timing for what?” Damon asked suspicious.

“Mini meeting” Stefan said as they walked over.

“About?” Aurora smiled sweetly.

“Killing Elijah” Bonnie smirked.

“What happened to figuring out his plans?” Damon asked the question aurora was just thinking.

“I was snooping around and figured out why he wants the witch burning site” Bonnie smiled. “He believed if a witch could absorb enough power, that they alone could kill Klaus”

“Meaning no dagger needed” Damon nodded in understanding.

“Like the power you get from a spot where hundreds of witches died” Aurora replied, realization clear on her face.

“Exactly” Elena smiled, happy she had figured it out.

“Perfect, so now about Elijah, what do we do?” Stefan furrowed his eyebrows.

“Simple: we kill him” Damon smirked.

“Easier said than done my darling” Aurora frowned. She could hear the girls whispering about ‘how cute’ her and Damon were and she let herself smile at that.

“How about we host a dinner party? Then stab him. Viola, problem solved. Plus he’d never expect it” Damon smiled maliciously.

“Not a bad idea, but I have to get home. Zelda is waiting and I'm sure she's starving by now” Aurora excused herself, said her goodbyes, kissed Damon and slid into her car. She slammed the door as she walked into the house, still angry with this whole situation. Zelda was fast asleep so she decided to go to bed a little hungry. She had a long day ahead of her.

Damon laid on his bed deep in thought. Ideas were swirling in his head about the dinner party. They had cut the meeting short because Aurora left and they would discuss it more tomorrow. The soft side Aurora brought out in him was new and different, it reminded him of being human. His thought drifted back to his childhood, carefully avoiding memories of Katherine as he finally fell asleep.
