After a long while, Diaval and I were at the edge of the barrier. He looked at me as I was staring into the forest.

"Maleficent," Diaval said, and I looked at him, "What are you thinking about?"

"Nothing," I said, and looked back, "Let's go to the river,"

"What if the humans are there again? We could get,"

"Come on, Diaval, you worry so much,"

"I apologize for having a brain,"

"Excuse me?" I looked at him, "I have as much of a brain as you,"

"And that's why you would put our lives in jeopardy,"

"It will all be fine my feathered friend," I assured him, and started walking.

"Maleficent," He huffed, then started following me.

I walked down the path and went to the river. I sat at the bay and Diaval looked at me.

"Truly, Maleficent, you know this can't be safe,"

"Shut up, Diaval," I told him, "And just enjoy the day, will you?" He huffed again and I rolled my eyes, "What should we have for lunch?"

"We can't stay for lunch,"

"And who is who's servant?" I asked, looking at him.

"Fine, I assume we could stay a little longer," He caved, and I smiled.

"You get the fish, I'll get the wood," I stood and started going back to the woods as he went to the river.

"Diaval," Someone whispered, and my ears twitched as I turned back, looking around as Diaval did,

"Maleficent!" They whispered, and I looked across the river to see the Princess with her hands around her mouth, calling at us. She waved and Diaval looked at me as I looked back at him, then back to her. She started stepping on the rocks across.

"Careful, it's a strong," Diaval started as waves started attacking her feet. She started shaking, then lost balance and screamed as she fell into the river. I couldn't help but hit myself in the face. Could she really not see the water below her feet?

"Help!" She yelled out. I huffed and rolled my eyes. I went to the river and stepped in.

I waded to her and helped her up, standing in the waist deep water. I helped her to the other side and she shivered slightly as she sat on the ground. I crossed my arms, waiting. She looked up to me.

"What?" She asked.

"Do you not know your manners?" I asked.

"What?" She repeated.

"This is the part where you say 'thank you'," I told her, and her face went to one side, "Well?" I was getting impatient.

"Thank you," She said.

"What are you doing here?" Diaval asked, looking around in a panic.

"I wanted to see if you were still here," She said.

"You didn't bring any of the others, did you?" I asked, looking at her.

"No, I would never," She told us.

I looked at her warily, but then nodded, "Okay," She nodded.

"What are you two doing?" She asked, getting up and ringing her dress.

"We were about to eat lunch," I told her.

"Would you like to join us, my lady?" Diaval asked, bowing slightly.
