Chapter 3. Red

Blaire's POV.

10:49, my phone read. I impatiently tapped on the floor, watching a few other people as they began to leave. Here I am, sitting on this fancy chair all alone with no one to talk to. Fascinating isn't it? Ava on the other hand, wandered around right after we had that conversation. Speaking of which, I couldn't precisely believe what she said. Someone watching her? Rubbish. But it's Ava we're talking about here, she could barely even lie about breaking her mother's expensive vase.

It all happened almost like a second ago, so the memory of it was still fresh in my mind. I remember myself walking up to the DJ to inform him about the birthday bash, he announced it and I saw everyone smiling, giving thumbs up. I added on telling that they'd be on the left side so that eighteen year old wouldn't notice any of them still here. Each of them were cooperative and followed my instructions, so I was positive that there wasn't anyone left.

It could be just her imaginations, she gets lost in her thoughts most of the time but she did say that she felt the unknown person's breath on her neck and that it was standing closely behind her. This almost sounds like a horror film, oh my. Well it could actually be someone, a human being was with her. There's nothiing wrong with that right? But, she also added that when she was about to take a look at its face, he or she was gone already.

Ugh. I don't want to think about this anymore, it's driving me crazy. Man, I need a drink. I stood up from my seat and walks toward the bar, asking for a beverage. Well cheers Ava, to you and your ghostly friend.

"Someone's hitting the alcohols." A voice chuckles.

"Whatever, Rose." I roll my eyes.

"Hey, where's birthday girl?" The red head asks.

"Dunno." I take another sip.

"You seriously need to watch your friend. I mean, she could be so weird at times." She sighs and drinks her beer.

"What?" My voice  starts to boil with anger but she even notice it.

"She's sometimes quiet and lonely, then I'd like see her with her sketchpad and nothing else but that old thing. She even pretends to be innocent. C'mon, who's innocent at the age of eighteen? No one. Please, there must be something wrong with her." She says in disgust.

"Excuse you? But you don't have right to say rude things to her like that behind her back, and for your information, to get some knowledge in that head of yours, I'm her best friend. And best friends don't let someone say rude things to their best friend. So it's best to start walking away now before I push that bottle of yours up your throat." I smile sarcastically.

"Psycho." She walks away.

"Sorry? Didn't her ya, babe!" I call out and finish my drink.

Ava's POV.

Peace and quiet, just the way I like it. Wandering down the long hallway, I decided to leave the party and go for a little adventure even though my feet are killing me right now. There weren't much people here, just about three to five people walking every now and then. Some of them were looking at me weirdly, and I was really bothered by that one but I chose to ignore it. Like I usually do.

I'm sort of like a loner person, I didn't have that much friends and I'm too shy to even make any. Back at home, I don't talk to anyone that much since I'm an only child and the fact that my parents constantly fight each night. It's really annoying at times, so I would just lock myself inside my room and sit down in one corner. Their yells could easily be heard through the walls, and banging noises that scares me. I'm not even sure if they're still happy together.
