Chapter 7. Flawed

Blaire's POV.

~ Before disappearance ~

The night fell, the loud laughs escaping from my mouth kept me awake, the presence of everyone gave me energy, and the cheers of all had me going. I take a can of pepsi and popped it open, I was currently talking with a new friend I made here. She was nice, all of them were. I wish Ava had been here with me, she would've enjoyed it. I wonder if she saw my text?

"So are you still in school?" A brunette boy asked.

"Yeah, University of Manchester." I nod and sip my drink.

"Good friends with anyone?" Another brunette asked, but it was a girl this time.

"Lots, are you asking me to name them all? Cause it'll take at least hours for me to remember each of them."

"Best friends, perhaps?" She inquires.

"A few, why?" I start to wonder why they're so attached to this topic.

"Nothing." She shrugs.

"Any of them go with the name of 'Ava'?" My friend speaks up.

"Oh, yeah. She's the closest, like a sister to me already. You guys know her?" I ask innocently and take a drink.

"Maybe, maybe not." She smiles weirdly.

"Okay." I say unsurely.

I look up the clock on the wall, it was almost midnight and I needed to go home; my parents are going to kill me. With that, I stood up from my seat and said a proper goodbye to everyone. I walk around the house to look for him, and as I spot his checkered top, I gave a light tap on his shoulder.

"Wha- Oh hey, Blaire. How's it going?" He turns around.

"Hey, uhm I really have to go now. My mum might be looking for me, it's getting pretty late." I smile but he widens his eyes.

"Oh, r-really?"

"Yeah. Thanks for the invite, I had a great time but I'll be going now. Bye." I wave and walk away but he pulls my arm back.

"Wait, have at least one last drink before you go." He encourages and I shake my head.

"No thank you, I'm good." I turn down his offer.

"You have to." He says quickly and I furrow my eyebrows at him, "C'mon, it'll be great. Just one, I promise."

"But-" He cuts me off.

"Please?" He gives a pout and I laugh.

"Fine, fine. Hurry up." I insist and walks away, probably getting it.

I check the time again, it was exact midnight. Christ, I still have to walk home. Seconds later, he's back and with a glass of something inside. It was a little pink, and some sugar around the tip of the glass.

"What is this?" I examine it in my hands.

"A drink with a hint of cherry, vodka, a little lemon, and a secret ingredient. Go on, try it." He grins.

"Well, okay." I didn't bother anything else since I was in a hurry, so I take one big sip and finish it all. I place it on the counter as I finish, I glance at him and his mouth was shaped in an 'o'.

"What?"

"Wow, you are quite the drinker." He chuckles and playfully punch him.

"I'll be seeing you, bye." I leave the kitchen, and walk pass the crowded living room.
