Chapter 2

Two days before the trio met Cadence, they were at the Interplanetary Space Station (Originally called the International Space Station). Mia and Stephano were on the station conducting research in the new green house. To say that they were both scientists would be an understatement. Mia was a Botanist, Zoologist, surgeon, Anthropo Biologist, and Acologist. Stephano was a Botanist, Climatologist, Geologist, Mycologist, and Cosmetologist. Kalen, on the other hand, was there on some "sketchy business." He was hired to steal a prototype cloaking device for Donovan Arc, who was a well known crime lord living on the moon colony. Mia and some other Asari scientists had invented the cloaking device as a side project to the expansion of the ISS. It was going to be used for the military, but also for design uses like hiding tubes, wires, and other unsightly things in the homes of people. Kalen had to figure out a way around the scientists to get to the device. He did not want to hurt anyone, let alone his half-sister Mia. He did have a weapon just in case anything went awry. Well, it did go awry, for the second Kalen stepped off his starship, he was attacked...by his sister...with hugs. He finally coaxed her off him and he then explained that his assignment was going well. (He was actually a government agent on an assignment to take Donovan down.) Mia then lead Kalen to the greenhouse for she wanted him to meet Stephano.

"Oh, is this the great Stephano you have told me so much about?"

"Yes, Kalen, he is the one and only."

"Well do I have news for the both of you." Kalen stated smiling from ear to ear. "All three of us are going on an adventure."

"What have you dragged us into this time Kalen?"

"Well, how else am I supposed to make sure your beloved cloaking device gets home safely?"

"Mia, your brother is right."

"I know, I know. It's just that I don't want either of you getting hurt. I can't lose my brother or my best friend." Mia then embraced them. "Kalen we're going to need some supplies for this, are we not?"

"I guess we are. Does this station have some to spare?"

"You're in luck. We just got a shipment of supplies in yesterday," said a scientist walking up behind Kalen. "Also, Mia and Stephano, Captain Arroyo wants you in the atrium." The scientist walked away.

"Who was that Mia?"

"That, Kalen, was Pearl, the head director of science. One tough b**ch she is. She survived a cargo ship explosion in the atmosphere of the moon. She fell all the way into the ocean. It's a wonder she's still alive and with nothing but a few scars."

"Wow maybe I should invite her along instead."

"I would advise not Kalen, for she has crippling mental breakdowns sometimes. For what she saw on that moon was terrible. It was..." Stephano was interrupted by Pearl.

"If you're going to talk about me please invite me to join in, Stephano. As Stephano was saying before, yes, I fell from the moon's atmosphere. No need to make me sound like a poor unfortunate soul. Please, I am far from being that. Also, you don't have time for stories. You must take that horrible man down. If you come back victorious I may just tell you myself...in your room...alone." Pearl then kissed Kalen on the cheek and then walked away.

"How about no. Never. Kalen, I forbid you to see her." Mia said disgusted.

"But why?"

"Because she is too old for you. She is 843 years old! You are only 24! How would that even work?"

"Gosh, I was just joking with you. I thought you learned to tell when I'm joking."

"Well, that was before mom and dad were killed, and you disappeared for five years, just to show up when it suited you!" Mia said angrily then stormed off to the atrium with Stephano flying after her, leaving Kalen standing alone.
