The next few days went by pretty smoothly, easy day at the police department fro Michael while Mallory seemed to be fine at school. She hardly ever had homework, did what she could in class. She was an ABBIT student, (A's and B's Because I Try), which made Michael even happier to be her father. How he didn't know anything about her before beat him, but he did know every day of his life he loved her even more.

Mallory walked to her science class like she did every day of the week. She was going to tell her friend Abbie That her dad said she could attend the birthday party Abbie was having, and because she could she was in a perfectly good mood. Abbie was only able to invite a couple of people, and Mallory was one of her best friends, even though she was new, and definetely had to invite her. "Abbie! My dad said I can come to the party this weekend!! He even agreed to let your mom and dad take me home with you". Abbie smiled. "That's great! I can't wait, only two more days!!" The girls squealed with laughter as they bounced into the classroom. Taking their seats right beside each other, they both got out their textbooks simultaneously like they usually did and listened as the teacher, Mr. Wellis, began to talk.

Wheeler popped back in his rolling chair and scooted it to his desk. "You know Chief, that new guy is pretty dogone good. I'm thinking we made a good choice". Chief Jones sighed then halfway smiled. "I agree Sarge, but soon we will have to let one of the guys go. How 'bout you start thinking of that Matthews guy? He's always late, hasn't had an arrest in over a month, gives out more freebies than tickets, what else should I name?" Wheeler spun his chair in a 90 degree angle, thinking. Before he had a chance to answer, Michael came prancing through the front door, this time with his knee brace in his hand, not on his knee. "Hey Mike, can I call you that? Anyways, good deal being ten minutes early. You know what that means, right?" Michael stood, staring blankely at Wheeler. "Yeah... I mean yes, sir. You can call me that. And no, I'm afraid I don't?" Wheeler and Jones laughed at the same time. "Man, you ain't gotta call us 'sir. We ain't that strict towards the officers we like!" Jones said. Wheeler cut in right behind him. "Exactly. Oh and, it means you get to do the reports for yesterday's drug bust. Here, get it done. You got school duty, don't forget!" Wheeler handed him the papers and sent him off with that.
