You lay on the grass with Edmund, your best friend, cloud watching.
"That one looks like Aslan!" He exclaims, pointing up at the lion shaped cloud. You give him a disbelieving look. "What? It's true, Y/N! That's what Aslan looks like." Edmund insists.
"Edmund, how long must you carry on with these fairy tales? Aslan doesn't exist. And neither does Narnia." You say.
Edmund sits up and you follow. He looks at you seriously. "Y/N, Narnia does exist. I'm telling you." He states.
You shake your head. "For years you've been rambling on and on about Narnia, Ed. You're older now. I thought you grew out of these tales." You say, frowning.
"Why don't you believe me?" He asks.
You scoff. "Edmund, you keep telling me about this magical place you went to and all these adventures you've gone on. It's ridiculous. It's-it's impossible." You sputter.
"Nothing is impossible." He whispers. A crow lets out a caw and flies overhead, as the wind picks up. Thunder rumbles in the distance and soon the sun disappears.
"What just happened?" You ask, squinting up at the sky. "It was so sunny and now it's going to rain." You state. Edmund doesn't say anything. Instead, he pushes himself up to standing and then helps you up.
"Um, we should go." He says, before sliding his hand into yours and taking off running through the park. As the rain starts to fall, you follow Edmund.
"Ed, slow down!" You shout, almost tripping. He suddenly slides to a stop and you run into his back. You catch yourself before you can fall. "What are you doi-" You stop and follow Edmund's gaze. He's staring at the lake, a strange light glowing from the bottom. "What is that?" You ask.
"Narnia." He whispers, before diving into the lake.
"Edmund!" You gasp, your eyes wide. You look both ways, your jaw agape, and then dive into the lake as well.
You swim hard, trying to keep up with Edmund. You swim downwards and into the light. You close your eyes, the brightness searing into your eyes. You don't know how long you swim for but when you feel a shudder run through your body, you open your eyes. Instead of seeing the light or the bottom of the lake, you see the surface. Your eyebrows draw and you swim upwards, your lungs screaming for air.
Once you break the surface, you gasp, breathing heavily. Edmund is gasping as well, his eyes wide in amazement. You look around and it's not the park you were just in. It's surrounded by trees and miles long of flowers. It's beautiful.
"Edmund..." You whisper. "Where are we?" You ask.
"Narnia." He answers, grinning.
"Narnia?!" You practically shout as you drag yourself on to the grass.
"Yes!" Edmund laughs, wringing out his wet shirt.
"It can't be..." You say.
"Why can't it?" He asks. You turn in a circle.
"Because it doesn't exist...?" You answer, looking at him.
"It exists, Y/N, trust me. We're here in Narnia. We're here for a reason. You and I both." He states.
"What's the reason?" You ask quizzically.
"That's what we need to find out." Edmund says, walking.
You follow after him. "Edmund." You say.
"Yes, Y/N?" He asks.
"I'm sorry." You state. "I'm sorry for not believing you about Narnia. I'm sorry that my mind was too small to grasp the idea." You say quietly.
Edmund smiles and looks at you, throwing an arm around your shoulders. "It's okay, Y/N." He says. You smile and wrap your arm around his waist as you both walk through the field of flowers.
[THE END] I hope you liked it!
