Chapter 2~The News
~~~~~~~~~
I woke up at six the next morning and, instead of going back to sleep, I got out my phone, plugged in my headphones and listened to the radio. While I was listening to the radio my mind started wandering and, before I knew it, it was 7. I took my headphones off and headed to the communal bathroom, I quickly had my shower before any of the other girls got in there, got dressed into a green singlet, light blue jeans, black flats and a brown jacket. The other girls finally started filing in when I was putting my short, wavy blonde hair up into a ponytail. I went back to the dorm room and made my bed, got my bag and books and walked slowly downstairs, and headed to the bus stop. The bus arrived late, as usual and I took a seat in the front of the bus, where it was a tiny bit quieter, three stops later my friends, Isobella, Jakob and Stephanie got on the bus, Stephanie sat next to me, and Isobella and Jakob sat on the seats behind us.
"Hey guys" Jakob said
"Hey Jakob, what have you been up to." Asked Isobella
"Oh, I've bee-" Jakob started before Isobella cut him off
"Oh, that's nice, hey did you guys know that there is a competition to meet One Direction sometime today?"
"Yeah, I heard about it" Stephanie said "My mum told me about it it's on during lunchtime"
"I didn't hear about it" I mumbled
"Have you been listening to the radio recently?" Asked Isobella
"Of course I have, I listen to Mix 94.5 every morning"
"Well, you need to start listening to Nova, nothing ever happens on mix" said Stephanie "come on, this is our stop"
We all got off the bus and went to meet Bethany and Nick at the canteen
"Beth, Nick" Isabelle shouted over all the noise in the canteen area "over here"
"Hey guys" Beth said, walking up to us "heard the news?"
"You mean the news about One Direction?" Isobella asked
"No, I mean about my stupid twin, but this sounds much more interesting" Beth said
"First tell us about your twin" I said excitedly
"Ugh, fine" she groaned "You remember how i pulled that mega big prank on the school about 3 years back and I managed to pin it on Aria?"
"Yep, who doesn't remember that?" asked Jakob
'Yeah, well, she got sent to boarding school and she's coming back in a week and a bit and starting school here"
"Awesome" I said getting really excited
"Oh.My.God" Isobella yelled "We need to start organizing a welcome back party!" she said, starting to state a list of everything we'd need
"Now, tell me about this 1D business" said Beth
"Alright" I said, realizing Isobella was still going on about the party and everything we'd need "Isobella says that sometime today, Nova will be holding a competition and the winner and three friends will get to meet 1D in person and get front row seats to their next concert"
"Awesome! When will the competition be?" she asked
"I don't know, they only said when their most popular song comes on to start ringing and the third and ninth person will get the tickets" I told her
"Sweet, I'm ditching so I can listen for it and try and get in to the comp, Izz," she said, calling Isobella by her nickname "you gonna ditch with me to try and get into the comp?"
"Heck yea!" Izz screamed
"Well, the rest of us are going to class" I said, hearing the bell go

All my classes up until Lunch were a blur of movement and excitement with everyone talking about 1D and their upcoming concert and the competition and when lunch finally came I was exhausted.
Izz ran up to me when i got to the canteen area and said "Hey Maddi, the competition hasn't been yet, Beth is in the girls change room, hiding out from the teachers and waiting for the song to come on, I just came to tell you that we will be there if you want to hang" then she ran off.
