Song for the chapter: Demi Lovato-Who's That Boy?
------------------------------------------------------

'Caelia! Aur kitni der lagegi?'(Caelia, how much longer will it take?) (A/N I'll put translations in the brackets) someone yelled outside the door of our dressing room as I was fiddling furiously with the chunri of my lehenga which is like a shiny, ethnic long ass skirt and top. (Pic of outfits attached) Nine years in London nearly made me forget everything I ever knew about Indian culture. Don't even try blaming me, western stuff is a lot more comfortable.

'Abhi aai' (Coming right now) I answered, putting on the heavy jewelled earrings. My lehenga was mainly themed a pale gold and hot pink that matched with my necklace. My hair was down, bangles on my wrists with gold stilettos on my feet. My cousin Leisha—who was the one getting married—had thankfully stacked up our dressing room with various outfits even with the whole wedding thing keeping her busy. Metallic brown eyeshadows coated my eyelids with a thick layering of mascara and winged eyeliner, my lips were covered in pink lipstick to go with the outfit.

'Ta daa!' Cleo marched out in a soft green and silver saree, (Pic attached) looking stunning with her long hair down in a thick braid, ornaments studded all over with jewelleries covering her, making her look like a straight up model. Another one of my cousins—Alia, was standing next to her grinning big after finally getting Cleo into that saree 'This is like the most difficult thing to get into in the whole damn world' she said with her eyes wide. Trust me, girl. I know.

'You look gorgeous' I smiled and Vesper and Alura went forward to shower compliments as well. Alura was looking all stunning in bright red salwar-suit with gold embroideries. Her hair hanging from one side in blonde curls, red lipstick making her lips stand out and I was sure there will be at least all the boys in the whole neighbourhood chasing her when she walks out. Vesper was wearing a dark indigo lehenga with her hair in a French bun, looking pretty as hell.

One of my aunts poked her head in through the door 'Caelia, rasam shuru hone wali hai, kitni der lagegi?'(Caelia, the ceremony is about to begin, how much longer will it take?)

'Bas aahi rahi thi' (We were just coming) I gave an apologetic smile. She shook her head in defeat, leaving us.

'Let's go' Alia urged and we grabbed our purses, phones and other stuff, heading downstairs.

I came up close to Cleo to whisper 'Once the opportunity presents itself, we're sneaking out for some fun'

'Are you fucking kidding me?!' she gasped 'The sun is gonna turn me to Tandoori Cleo and we're going out?'

'Oh, chill' I rolled my eyes 'It's not even that warm, it's October for God's sake! And we'll sneak out in the evening, idiot'

'Oh fine' she shrugged. Alura suddenly rushed up to me.

'What's the engagement ceremony called again?' she asked in a hushed voice.

'Mangni' I answered. She mumbled a small "thanks" and went off again.

Once downstairs, Cleo and I took a seat in the corner. The loud sound of Shehnai playing and lots of laughing and giggling going on. Apparently the ceremony had started which resulted in Cleo running off to Vesper and Alura who stood watching in fascination. Apparently they found it super cute that the engagement ceremony was just two days before the wedding ceremony. I still don't understand what's cute about that. I watched my cousin exchange rings with Vivek--the groom. I am still kind of shocked everyone accepted her boyfriend without a fuss even with the spiked up hair and a few tattoos. Well, guess none of us have to keep our relationships secret anymore. Leisha looked heavenly in the bright blue saree with all those ornaments and stuff. She was naturally beautiful, it just heightened it. I got up from my seat and went around, trying to mingle.
