Elizabeth
I snuck into the house and got changed. Rafael was waiting in the garden. I don't know why though. He should have gone straight to school. Lola was gone. Don't know and don't care. I just changed as fast as I could, done my hair and left. I felt like I was forgetting something. You know, the mornings when you're really paranoid that your missing something. That's what's happening to me.
Anyway. I met Rafael in the front garden and I told him to wait as I had to do one last thing. He mumbled an okay and went into the brink of the forest. I ripped a page out of my homework diary and started writing. The letter read,
Lola,
I'm gonna be home late. Like you cared. Anyway, I don't know what time I'm back, so don't waitup..
whoelse.
I stuck it on the door with a sticky Autumn leaf and left. I found Rafael close to the river. He was sitting on a low bent branch. "ready?" I asked approaching him. He looked around,
"I guess so." he hopped off the branch and looked down into the water.
"So lemme get this straight. When your near water of any sort, your weak, energyless and feel... half let's say?"
"Exactly. And that's how you feel when close to fire of any sort. Right?" I nodded and we got up."Elizabeth"
"Hmm?"
"Aren't you forgetting something." He lifted his P.E kit in the air and arched his brows.
"Eugh Shit. I knew I was forgetting something." I ran out of the forest and inside the house.
Rafael
She sprinted so quickly it was like I blinked and bam, she's gone. I don't mean to judge, but it was pretty surprising. You wouldn't expect a girl like Elizabeth to be so quick. Again. I don't mean to judge and be stereotypical. Oh God knows that's the last thing I want to be. There's nothing I hate more than stereotypes. Actually forget I said anything about Elizabeth.
I pulled up my sleeves and tipped my hands into the water. I would have to get used to water if I was going to get anywhere with Elizabeth. After hearing her life sorry, I really did feel sorry for her. I want to be there for her but, from what I heard she doesn't open up very easily. I would have to gain her trust. And I know one way. But I don't know how that would reflect on my life. I'm not sure what to do.
The water was warm. I don't what it was but I could feel something. A tingle. The Change?
A Change is when a demon.. how can I say it. Well changes, judging by their mood or by their surroundings I guess. I'm not sure what changes. It's something I would have to look into. But I know every demons' is different Mother just told me changes happen. Not like puberty. Well a little like puberty. But it only happens, like I said, by mood or surroundings. Usually their moods are based on the surroundings as well. When my hand was pulled out from the water, the tingling feeling on my face seemed to vanish a little. I sat down on the river bank and put my hand back in. Tingling again. I wanted to know what the Change was so I didn't remove my hand. A couple of seconds later, I heard Elizabeth. I turned around and heard, "Umm Rafael?"
Elizabeth
He turned. His vibrant violet eyes shone. Did purple eyes even exist? "Yes.." He replied to when I first called him.
"Urm.. Why do you have violet eyes?" I had the biggest look of confusion on my face. He actually didn't look bad with violet eyes. Was he always that handsome? Or was it only now he had violet eyes that shone through the only sun rays between the trees? He looked like a Twilight character. He even looked kinda sexy, in a supernatural way. His eyes seemed to go into a dark purple now. "And now they're purple." He nodded, " Rafael what's going on? 'Cause your starting to scare me."
