Elizabeth

It came the day of mine and Sky's day out. She had a craving to go to Westfield. In Stratford City. I had to argue. It was a very long way away and something I couldn't be bothered to cope with. Especially on a Saturday. But I had nothing better to do and we kept finding loop-holes in every argument we proudly, and loudly, spoke.  I would admit her persuasion skills topped mine... But the odd thing was, when we were arguing she didn't look me in the eye. Not once, and she kept mumbling things that seemed to really piss her off. But we were here now, in Westfield. After 3 hours and a bit. The travel wasn't great, we took a bus from Brighton to Haywards Heaths, a train from Haywards Heath to Bedford, got on another bus from Gladstone Park and walked the rest. It was Hell. Especially with a 12 year old. It was annoying. She wouldn't shut up. All I did though was gaze straight out the train and bus windows as she rambled 'bout something I didn't really hear or care about.  Of course someone listened. Would she have waste her breath, otherwise? That person was Rafe. He listened. He came with us. One because Sky forced him. Two, because Jane forced him. Three, because he didn't mind. Four, because he wanted Sky to be safe. And five, because he felt sorry for me. Not the best reasons in the world but hey ho they are reasons.

First of all, I really didn't want Rafe to come but later I appreciated it a lot. A lot a lot.  Along the whole way, Sky wouldn't shut up. Talking about her annoying school friends and what she does for them and that they: never appreciate it, always be nasty to her, backchat and deliberately try and hurt her emotionally. Like babe, they aren't friends, they are right bitches. But she kept blabbering on and on, I just gazed out the window and tried not to fall asleep.

The whole night before I didn't get any sleep. All I heard was Lola. Laughing. Joking. Dancing. Screaming. Trust me you wouldn't want to know. She has changed a lot if I'm honest. Stupid cunt. Oh no, she's still a terrible mother but her mood has changed. Like you'd think after 15 years of sorrow and heart break, she'll finally get her revenge. But hell no. Lola has forget everything that happened in the last decade or so. I'm telling you, she's demented. So that night all I did was write and draw. I'm a writer, it's been my hobby since I first learned to write.  I write dark poems and dreamy thoughts in a poetic way.

Throughout the drip I thought of a new topic of my poems, but it seemed like we got their more quickly then I had imagined.

Rafael.

As we arrived upon the steps of Westfield, I couldn't help but notice the hundreds of couples around us. It was quite creepy really. All teenagers too. I do not understand people. At one point they scream 'Love Sucks' and the next they are embraced by a loving trance that lingers in their aura. Quirky remarks from Skylar wasn't helping either. I felt so misplaced and abstract. Not saying i need someone. I'm not one to fall for someone head over heels or at all. I've got a strict  policy which I express thoroughly: Education First. Love Second. Avoid All Excess Feelings and Attractions. Skylar calls me naive, so does everyone that knows me like Sky does.

Sky weaved in and out of people, making her way through the massive crowds. Me and Rafe slacked behind, unable to keep up. My ears thumped and my brain swelled up. The sights, the smells , the sounds endured me like a high pressure point in quick sand. Id admit, I wasn't a very adventurous person. The only sounds and smells I'm used to are the forest. This was an upgrade. No upgrade is an understatement. My brain has now been enhanced into a new world. I disliked change.

We toured the structure of the building three times before Skylar decided what shops she wanted to rummage through. So, first, she ran into 'Forever 21' I told her there will be nothing in her age range and that there cloths are more or less hippie and she wouldn't like them, but no. She wanted to see for herself. Me and Rafe waited outside and Skylar said she was gonna call us in when she found something she liked. It wasn't long before i began to get bored of the continuous silence between me and Rafe. So i quickly thought up a couple of questions i knew would need a long reply.
