Nicole's P.O.V
We sat on the bed for a little while longer, till my phone rang. Kevin bolted to get it, but I took track so I was already there.
"Hello?" I say, slightly cheery.
"Hey bitch, remember me?" a squeaky, yet scratchy voice ran through the phone.
"Wh-What? N-no. You." I began to stutter, and Kevin looked really confused.
"That's right. It's your mommy!" She shouted into the phone, which was probably loud enough for our neighbors to hear. Kevin grit his teeth, and bit his lip to keep from lashing out, and breaking my phone.
"Why are you calling me?" I say, gritting my teeth as well. This is what I was afraid of, but I had a plan. It wasn't the best, but it'd keep my friends alive.
"Oh yeah...I just wanted to tell you something." She replied, acting somewhat clueless.
"Yeah? And what would that be?" I said sarcastically.
"You listen, and you listen good. You will meet me at the park, across from the small clearing on fifth street, at midnight[A/N-Most of the places in my fanfic are made up, but not all of them]. And if you don't...your beloved Aleks gets a bullet to the brain." She said in a low whisper, probably knowing that someone was near me. "It's your life or his Nicolette. Tick tock darling."
"I-I accept." I said, glancing at Kevin nervously.
"Good. And you better not bring ANYONE or I'll kill you all, got it?" She said, once again in a low voice. "See ya' darling." She said in a sickening voice, then hung up.
I sighed, and checked at the time. '1:30pm'. "Well?" Kevin asked nervously. 'Keep calm...' I tell myself. "Kevin...I think we should...take a break..." I tell him, avoiding eye contact.
"W-What?" He asked, in complete and utter shock.
"We should take a break..." I said, as I walk to the closet, and grab a pair of black skinny jeans and a loose black tee-shirt. "Why?! Is there something that I did wrong?!" He screams, then he begins to break down in sobs.
"Kevin...it's...complicated." I say, as I quickly change. He grabs my wrist as I go to grab my purse, and phone.
"Please, Nick..."He begs, making me look at him. I tried to look away, but as you can see, he's twice as strong as me. "Answer me, for fucks sake!" He shouted, as a rouge tear slipped from my eye.
"Kevin, it's for the best." I whisper.
"It's for the best? It's for the best?! No it isn't! You make me happy, you make my days brighter! Having you with me makes me complete! Your the best thing to ever happen to me! How can you just...just...leave?" He whispered the last part. I was crying, at this point.
"I'm doing this for you...for me...for us..." I whispered as I grabbed my purse, phone, and put on my crimson 3's, then bolted from the house. "I'm so sorry Kevin...it was my fault that we got so attached..." I whisper as I ran to the park.
