The official trailer for The Diary of Nick Dolce can be viewed/accessed from the link above. I worked really hard on it for an entire day, so I would appreciate it very much if you took the time to watch it :)

Carry on.

Reynaldo paced back and forth in front of the clone, a look crossed between perplexity and deliberation permanently plastered on his face as if it had been frozen that way.

Adrian's clone shifted uneasily on his feet, keeping his eyes downcast. He had not spoken a single word since I walked out of the laboratory with him by my side, exchanging brief introductions between him, Reynaldo and the real Adrian. It was concerning, but given the air of tension surrounding Reynaldo, it was perfectly within reason.

Adrian bowed his head slightly, hoping to catch his clone's eyes. He looked away from Adrian unpremeditatedly, nervously twiddling his thumbs in front of his aqua blue robe.

"I just cannot believe it," Reynaldo finally spoke, breaking the silence like a stone through a glass window. "The animal trials all returned unsatisfactory results, yet the thirtieth human trial was successful? It doesn't make any logical sense."

Adrian's clone took a cautious step forward, watching his feet as he moved. A childlike curiosity flashed through the green of his eyes, like he was fascinated by the littlest things. I didn't know for certain how much intelligence he had, but if all elements of the trail were in accordance with each other, he should have been equipped with the basics of being human - walking, talking and other subtle aspects like eating. He wouldn't have vast knowledge of the world around him, however, which was something either Reynaldo or myself would have to teach him over time.

"Have you ever heard of miracles?" I asked, shamelessly interrupting his cogitation. "Don't you think that maybe this is one of those sort of situations? Maybe luck is on our side, or fate."

He paused during his sixth pace, looking up at me with a blank expression. I knew he understood what I said, without having to elaborate my point, but he seemed to be having trouble coming up with a response to my statement.

"It has to be," Adrian smiled, though it took all of his last remaining strength to do so. "Father, the proof is right here in front of you. Look at this man! He is like my very own twin brother. Nick has done an outstanding job, wouldn't you say?"

"Hmm. Perhaps," Reynaldo mused, rubbing his chin thoughtfully. "I do not believe in miracles, though. You know this, Adrian. As do you, Nicolas."

Adrian's face fell, every last trace of determination leaving his demeanour. I moved beside him, lifting his chin up so that our eyes met.

"Don't give up hope," I spoke with the most certitude I could muster at that time, training my attention on Reynaldo. "As for you, Rey, you may not believe in miracles, but that doesn't mean they don't exist. Miracles happen every day, even in times of doubt, and it's all thanks to The Lord above."

He snorted brazenly as if I were a crazed lunatic, shaking his head in doubt. "God does not exist, Nicolas. It is merely a concept created by humans to make us feel like we're not alone in this world; that there is a higher power watching over us, protecting us from evil, and maintaining order."

I went to argue, but kept my mouth tightly shut. Getting involved in a minor argument with Reynaldo was not of upmost importance right then, when there were bigger things requiring both our immediate attentions.

"Whatever the cause of this instance being successful, I'm glad it was." Adrian chimed in brightly, giving his clone an admirable look. "When I eventually die, I'm glad it will be him left here in my place to carry on my legacy."
