The streets were filled with people. There were vegetable vendors at one corner selling different fruits and vegetables. Ladies walked with small baskets clenched with their hands. Anyone could look through what was there in the basket; a bottle guard, few tomatoes and green leaves popping out through the tiny holes. Few boards were stuck near where the vendors sat giving prices and discounts. Either they would flaunt a smile and collect vegetables or they would frown and continue walking. Few children looked terrified and would not leave their mothers' hands. And some just left her and ran to some other interesting store (of toys... what else are children attracted to?).
The sky was to it's brightest blue in this time of morning. The sun was shining bright and their were birds flying high. Not even one cloud was visible. Men were out of the house early in the mornings so women took more time being out. Among the voices in the vegetable market, all heard a very loud noise of a girl who shouted, "Wait there! That belongs to me!". All eyes stared at that girl. She was a young girl of seven with shoes torn and her hair frizzy. She sweated a lot and was tired (told her arms which rested on her waist as she bent down and was breathing heavily). She wore a pink and white colour frock. As hot did she feel outside, much angry she also felt inside. The boy behind whom she ran was a famous dodger of that street. Many times was he accused of stealing things from others. This time he stole a chocolate bar from Anne.
An old woman pushed all of them away and came out of the crowd. She had wrinkles all over her skin and her hair had partially turned grey. She beamed at her granddaughter with anger. She too sweated carrying two three heavy baskets of vegetables and cereals. Anne knew she had annoyed her grandmother once again but she took it casually. She had expected that she might soften once again and would forget whatever happened. Though the old lady's intentions were not as she had thought. She marched towards the little girl and attacked her with words. She coughed after every time she increased her pitch. But she would not stop. Anne looked down with glittery eyes. She did not have expected such a thing even in her wildest dreams.
"None in my fault, gramma!" She screamed. Crying out loud she ran away directly to her house when her grandmother stood straight, shocked on how she behaved and saddened to hurt little Anne. She regretted doing it strongly and started chasing her. Rest continued with their own works gossiping about Anne among themselves.
