Her

Look at you. You've done it.
You've done what you were meant to on the earth.
I look at the people here and see you in them.

You've laid your marker on this earth
And a piece of you with everyone in this room.

I know we didn't often get along.
I was a stubborn child.
I knew what I wanted, and wouldn't have it any other way.

I may see that a bit too late, now that I think about it.
Though don't doubt my love for you.

So this is for you.
The woman who may have been one of my biggest inspirations.
For the old lady who let me bake in her house
And who taught me that I'm unique and important.

I know I'll always miss you
And that you'll be watching over,
But I'll never forget.

So thank you from me.
Just for being there,
And just for being you.
