Stepping into the store the first thing Wisteria noticed is that it was void of people. Her mother had told her to go to this shop for her wand while she went to get something from another shop. She went to the counter and rang the bell, waiting for someone to come help her. Before she could ring the bell again and older man appears behind the counter. He had greying hair that stuck out everywhere and a kind smile. He was dressed oddly even for a wizard and had eyes that looked into your soul.
" Why hello miss. Looking for a wand yes?" The old man asked sporadically. "Well you've come to the right place. I am Mr. Ollivander and I make these wands. So shall we get started?" He didn't wait for an answer as he began searching through the little hallways grabbing what appeared to be random boxes. He brought five boxes over and set them on the counter opening each of them. " Now the one thing you should keep in mind is that the wand chooses the wizard not the other way around. Now I just want you to wave this," he said handing her a wand. It was light brown with a vine like pattern on it. He began telling her the details of the wand. All she caught was dragon heart string. She waved it and the lamp on the counter fell over. Mr. Ollivander immediately took the wand away. " This one is ebony with unicorn hair centre and approximately 11 inches. Very powerful. One of my favourites. Please go ahead. "
She grabbed the wand and a warm feeling took over. She felt a breeze pass over her face and she looked at Mr. Ollivander in wonder.
"Seems you have your wand," he said frowning," miss could I please have your name for my records?" Nodding Wisteria told him her name and his frown deepened. " Your father wouldn't happen to have been Edward Hawthorne, would he?"
" Yes but he died. My mum says he was a hero. " Wisteria replied. The look on her face was troubled as she looked up at the old man.
" He was a hero. He saved five wizards from a very bad man that was trying to hurt them. Your wands are twins. I expect you will do amazing things in your life. But be very careful my dear the world is a dark place now and people can be easily swayed to do horrible things. Ah, I see your mother is here, that will be two galleons." The old man then turned around as if he hadn't just told the little girl that the world was a horrible place and bid the pair adieu while walking back into the rows of wands.
" Mum he said my wand is like father's was. And he also said that father was a hero and he saved people. Mum why do you look so sad?" Wisteria gazed up at her mother with curious eyes and the most innocent expression on her face. Her mothers eyes were glazed over with tears as she stared down at her daughter and looked her in the eyes, her fathers eyes.
" Your father would be so proud of you. He loved you so much and I wish he could be here with you to help you through this. Now, let's go home. "
" Mum... I loved him too but I have you to help me and you're doing great. I love you." Her mother almost began to sob in the middle of the street as she led her daughter to the shop they arrived in. She payed to use the floo network and when they got home she almost forgot to give her daughter her gift. She gently set down the box containing the little bundle of white fluff.
" Wisteria come down here, I have something for you. " The only indication that Wisteria was coming was the sound of her foot steps on the stairs. Once she arrived in the sitting room she sat on the floor next to her favourite flowers. " Now I expect you to be very careful and very gentle do you hear me?" Her mother asked sternly handing her the box. Wisteria took it carefully wondering what it could possibly be. She saw the holes in it and immediately guessed it was an animal. Lifting the lid of the box she gasped at the sight. A pure white kitten with eyes the colour of the sky sat in the box. The kitten didn't seem to be looking at anything so Wisteria looked closer at its eyes to notice it was blind.
" Mum she's blind! How is she gonna move around? She'll hurt herself!"
" Oh dear. I guess we can take her back tomorrow then."
" No then she won't find a home. I'm going to call her Margeret," Wisteria states firmly. Her mother just raises a brow at the name her daughter chose but doesn't comment. Wisteria happily cuddles the kitten who begins purring loudly. She then stands up and takes her to her room cooing at her the entire way. One thing that Wisteria was sure of is that she was going to help the cat get around.

Two months had passed and it was finally September. Wisteria waited patiently for her mother to collect the rest of her things to put in the trolley. Margeret sat quietly in her cage atop some of Wisteria's bags. When they had finally loaded all of her things Wisteria began pushing the cart to platform nine. Confused as to where they were supposed to find a platform 9 3/4 at Kings Cross station, she looked up at her mother.
" Mum I don't see it. "
" Just follow me and when I say run towards that wall do so and don't stop."
Wisteria looked up at her mother as if she had lost her mind but didn't argue and when her mother said run she did so. The next thing she knew she was surrounded by witches and wizards at a completely different station. Looking around she saw the sign that read "Platform 9 3/4" . She looked at her mother who just laughed at her expression and continued forward.
" Wisteria I expect you to be on your best behaviour while you are at Hogwarts. That means no pranks or any other forms of mischief, do you understand?" Her mother asked seriously. Wisteria just smiled and nodded holding crossed fingers behind her back. She kissed her mothers cheek and said her goodbyes before grabbing Margeret and her trunk, pushing her luggage to the proper person. She then boarded the train looking for a compartment to sit in.
As she was searching she felt herself lose balance and fall into the last compartment on the train containing two young boys. She looked up at them with red cheeks then checked if her not so small kitten was alright. Seeing that she was fine she stood up.
" Could I sit with you? It seems all the other compartments are either full of snobby people or just full."she asked with a small smile. The two boys grinned.
" Sure you can. I'm James," the boy with the glasses and uncombed hair said.
" I'm Sirius. And you are?" The slightly thinner boy with long hair asked.
" I'm Wisteria but you can call me Wisty if you like. " she said happily.
" What kind of name is Wisteria?" Sirius asked," are you a muggle born?"
Slightly offended Wisteria replied" It's the kind of name that's mine, and what's a muggle born?" Sirius just laughed so she turned to James for an explanation.
" A muggle born is a witch or wizard who's parents are not magical. And I think your name is lovely. "
" Well then no I'm not a muggle born. My father was a wizard but he died when I was five. My mother raised me. And she's a botanist so that's why I'm named after a flower. It was her favourite flower at the time." Sirius then stopped laughing looking at the girl with a curious expression.
" How did your father die?" Sirius asked. Wisteria's eyes saddened slightly.
" He died saving some other wizards from a bad man. That's all I really know about it. My mum says I have his eyes though, she says that they're the most beautiful eyes she's ever seen. I think she's lying though." She couldn't help but tell them all of this. When she meets new people she always babbles. She was a very open child and didn't know a stranger.
The two boys just stared at her bewildered. They had just met the girl and she was already telling them things about herself.
" You do have very pretty eyes." Sirius said before he could stop himself. When she looked at him with a smile he looked down and blushed before adding," But I've seen prettier. " Wisteria immediately stopped smiling and looked at Margeret who sat in her cage head towards the window.
She caught James looking at Margeret with interest and opened the cage. She grabbed Margeret and handed her to James who smiled and began petting her white fur.
" She's blind so please don't put her down until the compartment is full. I don't want her to wander."
" What's her name?" James asked curiously.
" Margeret," Wisty chirped. The two boy stared for a second before laughing. Wisty just shook her head and rolled her eyes. Her cat just seemed like a Margeret to her. Once the boys stopped laughing the compartment door opened again and a sickly looking boy came in. He sat down and sighed. " Hello. I'm Wisty what's your name?"
The boy looked at Wisty wearily before replying," I'm Remus," he then turned to James and Sirius while they introduced them selves. Just then a mousey looking boy entered and stared timidly at all of them. Wisty then introduced all of them and asked for his name.
" Peter. Nice to meet you all. " his two front teeth were larger than the others and stuck forward slightly. He moved next to James and sat down.
The conversation in their compartment was light and they laughed often. Wisty realised then, as the train started to move, that she was going to have an amazing year. Looking around at her new friends she also realised that she was going to have an amazing new family.
