This is going to be a one-shot from a scene in a book I'm writing that is my own story. A few of theses characters play important roles in the background of the world that Winterfield Academy is set in. ~Yaoi_Ninja_63

To say that Vlad was bored was an understatement. The werewolf he had seen grow from a cute, spirited 14 year old to the handsome 24 year old that was pacing the courtyard below talking to the youngsters who signed up for the army of the queen.

"You may leave whenever you please, I'm not holding you here Lord Vladimir," Her soft voice was always so calming and powerful for her age. "My lady, you honor me with your presence once again," Vlad cooed as he bowed to the teenage girl.

The frown on her face not lost on the vampire, "I am aware that I may leave any time, I just don't believe I ready to leave." The queen gave him a sad smile, "how about we walk the gardens that you have taken time to restore to their former glory."

She took his arm when it was offered to her, she gently drew him away from the balcony towards the staircase. "Your mind keeps wandering," he knew it wasn't a question, "Your thinking of him again." She opened her mouth to speak again, when he cut her off, "I do believe my own affairs should be left to be my affairs," the response was cold and he could feel her flinch next to him. Vlad felt guilty for snapping at her but couldn't bring himself to apoglize.

"I apoglize," she whispered, "No its not your fault dear, it appears my dead heart can still love," Lord Dracula responded. He felt worthy of that name everytime he made Gaia sad, all she ever did was help him and he would snap at her.

"You should speak with Derrick, he would,", she closed her mouth when he lifted his hand to signal for her to stop her sentence. "Your brother is busy with his new job as your head commander of the army," Vlad replied running a hand through his hair with a sigh. "It's hurting you trying to deny,"he placed a hand on her left wing, "I'm not denying what I  feel, it just can't happen your highness."

He turned and left her there in the beautiful garden below the willow tree she so loved. Her shocked and worried expression burning a hole into his dead heart.
