Once I arrive at this years' new hell hole, I step off the bus and walk towards the school ignoring the curious eyes, the jealous glares and the wolf whistles.
Guys can be h*rny idiots when it comes to girls, no matter the body type, size, attitude or how pretty they are, as long as they can put their hot dogs somewhere they don't care at all about anything.
I go directly to the main desk to get my schedule from the secretary. It's much easier knowing where you're going when you know this school like the back of your hand, actually maybe more thanks to my uncle Max a.k.a the principle, it became something natural to walk these halls since I was in elementary school.
My life has always been complicated, I've had my ups and downs , moving various times and the death of several of my family members, but during my earlier years I used to spend everyday after school helping my uncle in his office.
When we moved to South Carolina, I started to hang out with the wrong crowds according to my parents and that caused them to freak out and move us all back just in time for the beginning of my senior year.
"Hey Sharon, I'm here to get my schedule" I smile at her trying to hide the fact that I truly hated her a*ss for constantly hitting on my uncle while knowing he's married with a newborn at home .
"Hi Kar, let me just find it" she answers me oblivious to the sneer that comes on my face when she calls me by the nickname I only let people I like call me, and she goes on look through her computer files looking for my schedule and prints it out.
"Here it is" she says as she hands me the piece of paper that specifies how my jail sentence will be playing out from now until the end of the school year.
I thank her and grab it quickly before turning my head to where the principles' door is. "By any chance is my uncle here yet?" I ask her while eyeing the door looking for any sign of life.
"He doesn't quite know we moved back and I want to surprise him" I explain when I see she looks at me cautiously.
She reluctantly nods, but stops me when I reach for the handle "He's dealing with a troublesome kid that got into a fight, so maybe you should come around lunchtime" I hear her high pitched voice say. I look at my clock shocked Crap, they beat my record! I'm going to have to work harder this year. I sigh and lean on the wall next to my uncles door popping one leg up against the wall.
"It's cool Sharon, I'll wait. Plus uncle Max will just make me a tardy slip" I shrug it off and wait for the door to open with my arms crossed and my eyes closed.
When I hear the door I open my eyes immediately and slowly stand straight smiling widely waiting for my uncle to spot me, but what I end up looking at is the bus stop guy checking me out with his gorgeous blue eyes, messy hair and obvious football player body that I could now appreciate up close.
I quickly scan him and see he's wearing a basic white t-shirt, black loose fitting skinny jeans and a pair of black biker boots with his black leather jacket slung sleekly over his shoulder making the muscles in his arm stand out even more.
Stereotypically boring, yet enticing... says the girl also dressed in black in white
"I told you that you went to my school, I'm gonna keep an eye out for you" he says smirking and then turns around to continue towards the door, but not before winking at me.
Prick. Hot, egocentric, prick.
I stand there looking at his retreating figure before my uncles voice snaps me out of my trance. "Karma?! Corazoncito! How are you? My oh my have you grown over summer! Wait, why are you here?!" he asks while he hugs me tightly. "Did you run away again?" I hear him whisper before he lets me go.
I smile brightly at him "No, I didn't run this time, we moved back two weeks ago, but mom wanted me to surprise you at school".
Even though I know we moved here because they wanted me to get away from my friends, they also wanted someone to keep an eye on me during school, which is dumb because I have the best grades, even if I get in a little bit of trouble here and there .
"I don't want to be too late so, can you make me pass? by the time I get to class I'll be late and I wouldn't want to get detention on my first day. Let's be honest here, mom doesn't like detention and she'll call YOU up and yell at YOU because of my unfair punishment" I see him sigh and smile slightly "She's scary isn't she?" I ask already knowing the answer as he nods. "I get that from her" I say proudly.
He laughs "Yeah, that's true. Your aunt says I must be adopted. Apparently, I'm not like my dad or your mom, but that's because she didn't meet your grandma. She was the sweetest thing alive, I never saw her get upset" he smiles at the memory of my grandma while he writes the pass.
You see, my grandma was hands down the sweetest woman ever. The problem with that was that she never got mad at anyone no matter what. Usually, when you're so submissive things tend to be unfair, but you don't care as long as the others are happy. I got the opposite personality traits, thank the lord.
I grab the slip quickly and kiss his cheek. "You got the good genes, tío, grandma would be proud of your attitude towards life" I smile slightly at him and turn around to make my way to my first 2 hours of personal hell. Math.

Weeeeell??
I really don't know where this rewrite is going, but I'm sure it's gonna be better than what I wrote at 16.
