Chapter 13

Chapter 13 - 1403 words

After school Jess, Jake and I decided to the movies and see The Internship. I wasn't a big sucker for comedy's but Jess and Jake loved them. I didn't get anything to eat for the movie, wasn't hungry again. Jess and Jake got an XL popcorn to share and some candy. As we walked into the theatre, I looked up at the seats to see there was no one there. I could see Jess and Jakes lips forming a big smile.

"YES, free house!" Jake shout with excitement and fist pump the air. Jess started jumping in the air clapping.

"Guys, carm down. Someone could still come." I said being the party pooper I am.

"Nah, we're late and no one would come as late as us." Jake exclaimed. Well that is true.

"Come on lezz go!" Jess yelled running up the stairs.

We had a mini food fight with popcorn, played hide and seek and change seats like every 5 seconds. A staff member came in once saying that we were being to loud and could hear us from the theater next door.

I wasn't pay much attention to the movie but it didn't seem that great. Jess and Jake laughed a lot, they seemed to be liking the movie. When it finish we walked out, J and J (Jess and Jake) were make heaps of quotes from the movie.

"Did you like it Am?" Jake asked.

"Meh, it was ok."

"HOW DID YOU NOT LIKE IT?" Jess yelled getting us weird looks.

"I don't know, just don't like comedies." I replied.

"But everyone loves comedies!" Jake exclaimed.

"Well, I'm not everyone. Now let's go, I will drop you guys off."

We all got in my car and I drove them to Jess's house. Jake lived quite close to Jess so he always just walked from her place. You know, when I think about it they would be a really cute couple, haha.

"See you tomorrow guys."

"BYE!" Jess and Jake said at the same time. I drove of and start heading to the house. When I got there, there were no cars. I got out of the car and unlocked the door. There was a note on the bench top in the kitchen.

It read -

Hey Amber,
We have gone out for a Movie Trip, should be back by 7:00. We will be bring back take-aways so don't eat to much and get full.

I decided to go do my homework. I didn't have much to do, just edit my short film for media which is pretty easy because I edit nearly everyday. After I finished that I went and had a shower. I got undressed and made the water nice and warm. As I stood in the warm water all my emotion just came out. I thought of when I was little, having my mum die, the bullying, living with my brother, getting cheated on. It seemed like no one loved me.

I looked at the razor blade on the shelf in the shower. I picked it up and place it on the skin of my thighs. I slid it and cut deep. Blood began to pour out and I slid it across my skin again and again until all the emotion was gone. The hot water made the wounds sting but it felt nice. I forgot what it felt like since I hadn't done it in 2 years. I had relapsed, I thought I was doing so well but then it just got to much. I was standing on the edge of a cliff and it's like someone just pushed me off.

I got out of the shower and cleaned the wounds. I put a bandage around my leg and put my cloths on. I walked out of the bathroom and came face-to-face with Eddie.

"Come, dinners here." He smiled.

"Not hungry." I lied walking into my bedroom.

"You didn't eat before dinner did you, I told you not to." Eddie said in his dad toned voice. It was really funny see Eddie try to be a dad.

"No, I just had a big lunch." I lied again.

"Ok."

"How was the movie?" I said trying to change the subject.

"We saw Pacific Rim, it was shit." He replied with a laugh.

"I will put it on my list of shitty movies to watch with friends." I laughed back trying to act happy.

"Haha, well I'm going down stairs to eat, I'm hungry." Eddie said and rub his tummy.

"Ok, in going to bed now, I'm really tired for some reason."

"Night then."

"Night." I said and walked into my room. I decided to watch a movie then go to bed. I put the movie in the player. Kuro snuggled up to me as I got under the covers. Half way through the movie I fell into dreamland.

•Dream•

"Amber! Go get the leash for Marley, we're going down to the park."

"Ok mummy!" I love taking my dog for a walk. Marley is a male white/blonde/brown lab. I got the leash and put it on the dog. Mummy came out and put a hat on my head.

"Don't want you getting sunburnt, do we?"

"Nope." I replied, popping the p.

We walked out the front gate, mommy was holding onto the leash for Marley. We did the 5 minute walk down to the dog park that we did every Saturday afternoon. At the park there were a few other dogs. I could see a corgi, a border collie and a chihuahua. I don't like chihuahuas, they're to small and they bark a lot and their bark is so annoying.

"Can I go pet the corgi mummy?" I asked

"Sure sweety."

I ran over to the dog and knelt down. The dog came up to me and started liking my feet.

"That tickles." I giggled and pet the corgis beautiful light brown and white fur.

"That's Harry." The dog owner said.

"Aww, Harry is soo cute." I replied and Harry started wagging his tail.

"He likes you." The dog owner said. I just simple nodded.

"It was nice meeting you Harry." I said to the dog and got to my feet. I said a thank you to the owner and ran back to my mum.

"That doggy's name was Harry and he liked me." I said to mummy jumping with joy. I loved corgis but not as much as I loved Marley.

"That's a cute name." I nodded in reply.

"Ok, Amber now let's play with Marley." Mum said. I throw the ball a few times and played chasey with him. When it was time to go mummy put Marley on a leash.

"Can I hold him?" I ask mum.

"Of course." She replied and handed me the leash.

"Now remember to look both ways." She said as we approached the road. Mummy stepped onto the road and I was just about to follow her when a car came speeding around the corner and hit mum at full speed.

"MUMMY!" I yelled running over to her and started crying. The car just continued driving. The corgi owner came running over and called a ambulance.

"It's going to be ok." She said, trying to comfort me but deep down I knew it wasn't going to be.

•End of dream•

I woke to a cold sweat and tears running down my cheeks. Eddie burst in through the doors.

"What's wrong?" He said with concern in his eyes.

"Just a bad dream." I replied, but it wasn't a dream, it was a memory. Eddie came over and sat on the bed; he started wiping the tears away. I remember what the memory was again and started cry harder. Eddie enveloped me in a hug and rocked us back and forth. I looked over at the clock, it read 2:03 am.

"Can you stay?" I asked with puppy dog eyes.

"Of course." Eddie replied and lay us down while still hugging. He put the covers on over us and I cuddled up to him. He put his arm around me and I once again fell asleep but this time in Eddies arms.
