Chapter 17 - Are You Ok?

I woke up to the sound of seagulls. I raised my head from Jacks chest and looked out at the ocean. I could see the sunrise against the ocean. It looked absolutely amazing. I smiled even though I was still tired considering it was early in the morning from the sunrise. I rested my head back against Jacks chest. I smiled as soon as I felt Jacks hand run through my hair and Jack kissing my forehead meaning he was awake as well.

"Morning handsome" I said as I looked up at a smiling Jack even though he looked tired. Jack pecked my lips.

"Morning my beautiful bride to be" Jack said making me giggle. "Are you going to work today?" Jack asked, frowning but I just shook my head.

"Nope, I was going to call in sick today once we got back home but I don't want to go home" I said and Jack smiled.

"Me neither" Jack said before kissing my forehead. 

"I think I should go at least find a pay phone and tell them I'm not coming in today" I said.

"Are you ok to go by yourself?" Jack asked. I lifted myself up to look down at him before smiling and pecking his lips.

"I think I'll be ok" I said before standing up and dusting myself off.

I walked off to find a payphone hopefully somewhere. Once I found one, I sighed with relief. I checked my pocket if I had any and luckily I had just the right amount. I put the money in and dialled the schools number but before I could get to the last number, someone covered my mouth making my eyes widen and drop the phone. They put their other arm around my waist and started to drag me back even though I tried to get out of their grip. I bit their hand making them yelp and uncover my mouth.

"Help!" I shouted.

"Shut up" Someone hissed my ear. 

The person covered my mouth again making me scowl. I jabbed them in the stomach making them breath out before letting me go. I started to run. I started to panic though when I heard footsteps chasing after me. I checked behind me to see if they were catching up but I ended up running into someone, wrapping their arms around me making me scream in fear and try and get out of their embrace. 

"Amy, it's me" I heard a familiar voice I know and loved. I looked up to see Jack making me jump up and wrap my arms around his neck as Jack wrapped his one of his arms around my waist and the other rubbing my back in a comforting manner.

"There she is!" I heard someone yell.

"Let's go" Jack said quickly, picking me up bridal style and running off.

"There's my car, quickly!" I shouted. Jack ran to the direction I was pointing at and put me in the passenger seat. Jack quickly got into the drivers seat and drove off before they could get to us. I sighed in relief once we were away.

"Are you ok?" Jack asked.

"I'm ok" I said, nodding. "You?" I asked, looking over at him.

"I'm ok but I am worried because that person did just try a kidnap you" Jack said, sounding furious as he clenched his fists on the steering wheel.

"But I'm ok" I said.

"Yeah now but what am I going to do if it happens again while I'm gone or something?" Jack said worriedly.

"I don't think it will happen again" I said, trying to reassure him and myself.

"I sure hope so" Jack sighed.

Jack drove in silence. I didn't bother to talk through out the whole ride home. We got out of the car once Jack parked in the parking space in front of our house. Jack opened the door to the house and closed the door behind us after we walked inside and into the living room. Jack sat on the couch and pulled me down by my waist to sit on his lap. I put legs up on the couch and cuddled up to his chest as Jack stroked my hair.
