I have to leave in three days. I don't know what it's going to be like not living with my parents. My mom said that owning a house while in high school was always so much work. So, I am going to be living in a dorm, with a roommate which I have no idea who it is.
I started packing all of my things into a few suit cases. Mom showed me a whole bunch of pictures she had from her time there in dorms. They were pretty small, I was limited on how much stuff I could bring.
"Hey, come have some breakfast." My dad called for me
"Coming!" I shouted back
I ran down the stairs so fast I almost fell. I wanted to eat quick. I still had a lot of packing to do.
My brother was already eating at the table and said, " Slow down Kayla."
"Shut up Kadin." I said
I sat down when my mom walked into the room. "Good morning sweetie, how is the packing going?"
"Good morning. I am almost done."
"Well, I was thinking I would take you shopping." My mom was always one to go shopping, she loved it. But we never really got the chance to go together because she was working.
"Yea, that would be great."
"Dad, can we go see a movie or something?" Kadin asked
"Sure."
My dad and Kadin left after we were done eating.
"What do you think your going to do after high school?" My mom asked
"I don't know, I am 15."
"Exactly, you don't have much time Kayla. Your brother is 13 and he already has ideas."
"He wants to be a professional football player Mom. Good luck to him on that one."
"Well, you never know. But you should figure it out." She got up and walked away. That's when reality hit me square in the face. What was I going to do? Maybe a change would clear things up.
