Entry 6

Out here, upon first arriving,
Ash, Victo, and I didn't expect any.. additional company.

This was in a night time.

This is the time. Of our encounter.

I was out doing a mini exploration of my own not far from where we set up camp (this was just our second day there).

And there was a pause.

...
.
"Uh.. Hey." I waved a bit.
"... Hi." the girl replied in a quiet, shy voice.
"Why are you hiding?" I asked, tilting my head.
"B-because you're a stranger!" she replied quickly and her voice rose a little as she did. Clearing her throat, she added "S-strange.."
"What?" I exclaimed, "Is it the ponytail?" I grabbed and motioned to one of my tentacles. "I thought it looked alright." I mumbled, as I turned to look at her.

I put it up, though that was rare, halfway through the trip due to the heat.

She stayed quiet.
.
"Nnno? What is it then?"

"I've never seen anything like you.." she said in a wondersome, but still pretty quiet tone.
"What do you mean?" I then semi-shrugged, confused, "I'm not an octoling or something!" started to chuckle lightly, repeatedly waving my hand amd arm, still not figuring out what she thought was so strange.

"What are those?" she pointed to my 'hair' tentacles.
"Oh, well, it makes sense you don't kno-.." my sentence started seemingly sensible to me but then

"Wait. It wouldn't.. Or would it..?"
"You're confusing me."
"I'm the one confused!" I retorted. Something was off still. What am I missing? I continued the reasoning woth effort;
trying to ink up and explation as to why she she wouldn't know.

But then, at the same time, that wouldn't even be the issue here since this island is supposed to be 'newly discovered' in the first place, anyway. Supposed to be uninhabited..

Why's this all taking so long to all process and click? Jet-lag? Oh, but it was a boat-

"If.. that's the case, then..- What are you?!" I pointed, not wanting to come off rude, though I probably did, a little scared momentarily.
"..Not telling." she shook her heard sternly, in sync with her voice.

"So, you're not an inkling?! Or even an octoling?" my curiosity was heightened. I didn't think she could be some other sea creature..
'but then what would that make her?'
I thought but also spoke to myself in an almost unhearably-quiet way.

"Pear! What's going on? What's with the yelling?" Ash's voice rang through the darkness we both stood in, and neared our location.

I looked at him briefly, then said "I'm coming to a conclusion over somthing.." facing the ground.

"Uh, over what, exactly?" he asked, inquiring.

Lifting my index finger and arm upwards slowly, I pointed to her again, less rudely.

She shifted farther into the dark. Her being in it was the reason she was so difficult to identify.

"Do you see her, there?"

"Yeah.. What, she a stow-away?" his eyes immedietly narrowed a little amd he slightly . (I didn't really see it then, but now, I see he was being protective.
Even if it initially appeared to me as a bit of outward hostility due to mostly suspicion - which I think also put her on alert that moment).
