[6] Unexpected Company

*Colleen's pov*
My sister, Rachel and I are talking a walk in the after noon. We stop and sit on a bench and enjoy the nice breeze outside. It's a beautiful day today. "I have to pee" Rachel says out of nowhere but thankfully, there is a Starbucks across the street. "stay here I'll be right back" she says. I listen and sit there listening to the traffic. I get startled when I feel someone sit down on the bench. "I'm sorry! I didn't mean to scare you." a man says. He's pretty attractive and looks like a nice guy. "oh that's okay!" I say. "So what's your name?" the nice man asks. "Colleen." I answer with a smile. "Yours?" "Im Joshua, but my friends call me Josh." He smiles. I move closer to him and we get to know each other until Rachel comes back. "God damn Colleen. I leave to pee for five minutes and you find yourself a boyfriend." Rachel says as she walks across the street seeing Josh and I laughing. "Rachel shut up we're not dating." I say. "yet" Josh flirts. I look at him. "um here's my number." I say breaking the awkward silence. He takes the tiny piece of paper and puts it in his back pocket.

I hear my phone ring after dinner and I know it's Joshua. "Well hello there" I answer. "Hey beautiful" he says. "wow you're sure moving fast." I laugh. "what's that supposed to mean?" he giggles. "You flirt a lot don't you." "no not really only with people I have crushes on." he says seriously. I sigh. "You've known me for like five hours." I say but smile anyways. "So what" he says. I bite my lip. "well I have to go. Plans tomorrow?" "For sure." I hang up. I think I like him, which is insane.
