-Strong people stand for themselves, But the strongest people stand up for others-
Date: 12/12/2019
Weather: Overcast, -12, Slight chance of snow.
Her golden brown hair covered over half her face as the freezing cold wind whispered past the two walking down the street. Zoey pushed the hair back behind her ear, stuffing her hands back into her pockets right after. The two would always do this, no matter what the weather was like they would walk down the street, late at night. This time was different though, other than the odd car drive by or a dog barking it was silent. Luka lifted his head turning to Zoey, her cheeks were a deep red due to the cold. A smile slowly appearing on his face he scanned over her, dark blue denim jeans, her large wooly jumper and her black converses. Luka reaches her neck; the smile disappeared, anger began to boil inside of him. The bruises around her neck were still raw, Luka could still see where his hands were. It was clearly visible. Where the ass-hole had grabbed her, and pushed her to the ground. How could someone do that, especially someone who loves her so much. How could this have happened? Why hadn't she called him sooner?

"Luke...Luka...Lukie..." Zoey stuttered down the phone her voice cracking due to her crying.
Luka's heart dropped, they hadn't spoken since the party last Saturday, he could her the fear in her voice.
"What is it?" Luka replied with worry in his voice and on his face.
"I..erh...I need you to pick me up" She whispered, her voice lowering.
"Sure? I'll be right their," Luka replied standing up from his bed, picking up his car keys. "Tell me whats wrong Zo"
"I was just..and he." The phone cut off.
"SHIT!" Luka ran out his front door, sprinting to his foster parents car. He started the engine; speeding out of the drive way, Zoey's house was only a few blocks from his house. When he reached the two story house, Luka slammed the door of the car and ran towards the house. He stormed through the door; preparing for a threat like a thief or something but what he found was nothing. No one was in clear view. Just an empty hallway with a large oak staircase leading to upstairs. Cautiously Luka, in a fast pace, walked upstairs. The house was an eerie silence, surrounded with fear and anger. As Luka stepped into Zoey's bedroom she ran up to him, her arms wrapping around his neck.
"Zoey, hey...hey?" Luka lifted her arms down from his neck, worrying something defiantly was wrong.
"Can we go somewhere, anywhere," She pleaded looking past his shoulder towards the door over the other side of the hall.
Luka lifted her chin to reveal the bruising around her neck and slap marks that were planted along her cheeks. She dropped her head back down.
"Can we just go," She muted under her head. "I'll tell you in the car."
Before Luka could get a word out, a commotion came from behind him. Zoey's father bursted through the bedroom door, wasted as could be. He took one look at Luka and lounged toward him, in full force. Luka hit the ground, Mr Parker on top of him; he took a swing. Luka slipping past, throwing Mr Parker off him. Zoey ran into the hallway, her mother meeting her their. Luka sat up clenching at his arm, Mr Parker sat only feet away from him. He jumped up, Mr Parker went for another throw with his fist. Luka dodged it, kneeing Mr Parker in the side. Mr Parker fell to the ground grabbing onto his side, Luka stood there and turned to Zoey, who was now in her mothers arms. Mrs Parker gestured to Luka; he walked over to her and Zoey.
"You two go, go now before he notices," Mrs Parker warned as she led the two teenagers down stairs. "Take her away, I will call you later, I love you Zoey."
"I don't want to leave you mum, come with me we can go to Luka's." Zoey pleaded.
"No, I have to stay here and help your father; you two go, I will call you." Mrs Parker opened the front door.
"I'll take care of her Mrs P, come on Zo." Luka grabbed onto Zoey's arm pulling her out side the house.
Mr Parker stumbled down the stairs, before he could get out the door Luka and Zoey were already backing out of the driveway....

"Zoey, what the hell was that?" Luka pulled over, clutching onto his arm.
"Its...a long story," Zoey paused looking out her window. "Dad's been drinking ever since Jayce died, his been getting worse and worse each month."
"Okay, has he ever hit you before?" Luka began to make gestures like he was going to blow up.
"Uhhhh...never this bad.."
"WHAT?!! Why the hell wouldn't you tell me?!"
"LOOK! It's over now just drop it!" Zoey shouted.
Luka slammed on the steering wheel and, in a rage of frustration, he threw the door open. He began to walk down the street, turning back to Zoey who was still sitting in the car. She slowly got out of the car, catching up to him. Luka began to walk before turning around and locking the car. Zoey walked by his side nudging him and smiling at him. Luka was still worried but also pissed about Zoey not mentioning this sooner.
