Adams POV
I rubbed my wrist as I heard the lock on the door click, he turned to face me as I crossed my arms and looked at him. "What makes you think I wanna talk to you huh?" I questioned, "adam just listen" he asked. "I have no interest in anything you have to say" I retorted, "about the other day" he started before I cut him off. I scoffed "what when you kissed me and your girlfriend walked in how about we don't talk about that I feel stupid enough without being reminded of it thanks" I replied looking down at the floor.
"Adam your not stupid" he said his fingertips under my chin so I was looking into those brown eyes. I pushed his hands away, "don't please" I said walking round him. "Your right Liz is my girlfriend, but things haven't been right in ages. I don't love her anymore and I haven't done for a while" he told me. "It didn't look that way, the way you kissed her do you know how crap that made me feel!" I cried. "Youre just a kid you don't understand, its complicated " he said realising what he had said.
"Adam I didn't mean" he started. "Save it! Im sure you life is plenty complicated, and you clearly don't need me making it worse. Funny that same kid you just mentioned was the one you were kissing the other day!" I snapped. "Don't be like that" he said, "oh im sorry am I being childish. Sorry hows this we are done whatever this was is over I hope you and your girlfriend will be very happy together" I retorted unlocking the door and pulling it open. I went into the corridor slamming it behind me as I walked to class.
"Ok what happened?" Katie asked later as I slammed my locker door shut, "nothing" I replied. "Yeah right and im the archbishop" she answered. "It really doesn't matter everyone just treats me like a stupid kid like my feelings don't matter" I answered my forehead against the cold lockers. "Ok im worried now, who are you talking about?" she asked. "Someone kissed me, then I found out they had a girlfriend. He totally blew me off, told me I was a stupid kid. My mom went crazy at me because I got detention again, old mrs garland grassed me up to the principal for being rude to her. Then this morning I tripped over my bag strap and hit my face on the corner of my drawers, everything is just a mess" I replied sliding down the locker to the floor.
"Wait you were seeing someone? Why didn't you tell me?" she asked, "I didn't think it mattered. Well it doesn't now anyway its done with. Im just so sick of people thinking they can treat me like dirt, I used to be someone people were scared of" I replied running my hands over my face. "Yeah but you grew up adam, if this person doesn't want you in his life that's his problem. Hes missing out and loosing the best thing he could have its his loss" she answered nudging me with her shoulder. I nudged her back as I put my head on her shoulder, her arm went round my shoulders as she pulled me closer to her.
"I suppose we had better get to class" I said, "I suppose" she answered. "Or we could skip school and go do something more interesting than this" I suggested. "Wont we get in trouble?" she asked, I shrugged "im going I don't care are you coming or not?" I asked standing. "Sure fuck it lets go" she answered taking my hand as we walked through the hallway and out the entrance. "Well that was easy" I said, "hey where are you going!" someone shouted.
"Run" Katie said gripping my hand tighter as we ran up the street, we ended up in the park as we fell onto the grass laughing. "We are going to be in so much trouble later that teacher is bound to have told the principal hes gonna ring our parents" Katie said. "Oh well shit happens its not like my life can get much worse anyway my mom is already mad at me" I replied. "So what are we gonna do?" Katie questioned, "I don't know I just needed to get away" I replied quietly. "I have an idea wait here" she said standing up. I watched as she unbuttoned her top and hitched up her skirt, "what are you doing?" I asked.
"Wait and see" she answered crossing the park, I laid back on the grass looking up at the sky as I loosened my tie and closed my eyes. Someone called my name as I opened my eyes and saw Katie standing above me. "Look what I got" she said waving a couple of bottles of vodka, "how did you get that?" I asked. "I sweet talked the shop assistant, having boobs gets you everywhere babe" she replied smirking. She sat in the grass as unscrewed the lid, she downed a big mouthful and handed it to me.
I took it and did the same, it burnt my throat as I swallowed it as we shared the bottle. We lay back on the grass as we opened the second one, my phone rang as I looked at the name. My mom, I silenced it and took another mouthful. It started to get darker as I rolled onto my side, "we should go home my mom will kill me" Katie said absent mindedly her voice seemed distant. Everything was kinda hazy now, "I don't feel well" I replied. Katie didn't reply, I coughed as everything went black.
