Rose's P.O.V
"I think the maps were in the other car!" Jade cries out, shuffling through the contents in the glove box, forcing Tank off of her lap and onto the floor at her feet.
"We shouldn't need a map.. Let's just trace the streets on the way to the police station and hope we find them.." I grab her hand before she slams the glove box shut.
I rub her hand before softly closing the glove box, looking out at the streets as I slow down, Tank curling up on the floor at her feet.
"They can't be far if Tank sprinted from them to us.." I try calming her down before the both of us spend the next half an hour scouring among the streets, coming up empty.
By the time we've reached the police station, we've not caught even a glimpse of Rickie or Larissa.
"I don't see the boys.. Do you?" Jade whispers as she comes around the back of the police station to where I'm trying to pick the lock of the back door.
I look up at her with a blank look before whispering back.
"Does it look like it?" She shrugs and we both laugh quietly, my smile widening as the lock clicks.
Small celebratory sounds come from the both of us as we slowly stand up and I cautiously open the door. Together we walk in, my knife gripped in my hand so tight my knuckles have gone white.
My step falters as I hear a small crash, my eyes instantly snapping towards Jade who has also frozen in place.
Slowly I peek my head around the corner, seeing overturned desks and folders everywhere. Not seeing any zombies, I continue to slowly walk down the hallway towards what I think are the holding cells.
As I turn the corner, I see someone stuck under a desk and another person sitting on said desk.
I know that mop of hair anywhere.
"Oscar, get off your brother." I scowl, a smirk spreading across my lips as I see Oscar jump, falling backwards off the desk and landing on his back at my feet, grinning sheepishly at me.
"Hi!" Oscar waves up at me.
"Yeah, hi! Can you help me get this thing off before I lose my legs!?" Ashford's annoyed voice causes me to burst into laughter as I walked forward and stepped around Oscar before trying to lift the desk, a door creaking open down the other end of the hall causing me to freeze, looking up.
"What the bloody hell is all this racke- Rose? Jade? What are you doing here??" Jeremy sped walked over to us, helping me get the desk off of Ash before he leant against the wall, Ashford punching Oscar in the shoulder before sitting on the desk beside him.
"Yeah, what are you guys doing here? And where's Rickie and Larissa?" Ashford frowns at us.
"And Tank..?" Oscar adds in, looking behind us as I glance at Jade, her nod urging me to speak.
"Tank is in my car.. We don't know where the girls are.. We tried the neighbourhood and surrounding ones before we got here.." My voice cracks multiple times, my eyes focused on the ground.
No way in hell am I looking up.
"What do you mean you don't know!?" Jeremy's raised voice causes me to flinch and take a step back.
