"So, you're getting rid of all these?" Edward asked.

You nodded. "Yeah. I have no need for them anymore, so why should I have so many laying around?"

"Do you mind if we look through them?" Alphonse asked.

"Not at all. Hell, take any you want." You shrugged as you set some out on display. "I was going to give them away to the bookstore down the street."

"Thanks!" Edward started to go through your neatly stacked books.

You just shrugged as you stared at a photo that had come out of a book. "Why ... don't I remember him ...?" you mumbled.

"Woah ... You sure you'll give these up like this, miss?"

You sighed. "Unless you want to pay for all of them ... let's see here ... a good majority of these are first editions, and most of them are in great condition!" you grinned.

"Damn ... I'll give you over 500,000 cens for this! How about ..." He paused, looking at the books you had the Elrics help you carry to the man. "643,900?" he asked.

You raised an eyebrow. "Really? Is that the best you can do?" you asked.

"Er ... Well, I suppose 675,430 is the best I can ..." he mumbled.

You smiled. "Good. I expect the money by Friday." You turned and walked away, smirking to yourself. That could easily pay your rent ... for the next year.

Of course, there was that issue ... you still needed a job. But you refused to go back to the Military. Maybe you could get a new job ... Unless you got married to a wealthy guy in the next year.

You didn't realize you were daydreaming until you ran right into someone. "Oh! I'm so sorry!" You groaned and rubbed your aching head.

"It's all right." Their voice was much easier on your ears than FullMetal's complaining.

You looked up and saw an officer you had seen around HQ often, but didn't know. He had short blonde hair, with cold, blue eyes. "No, I should have been watching where I was going." You sighed, shaking your head.

"Oh, I know you! You're (y/n), right? I hear you left the Military." There was something in his eyes that set you on edge. "Perhaps you'd like to go out sometime?"

You shrugged. "Why not? I don't really have anything else to do."

"Then would you meet me at that cafe down the street tonight? How about 6?" he asked.

"Sure," you said.
