I Don't Believe In Love!

"The winners are... Cody Walker and Jasmine Western!" The head master declared. I was actually surprised to see my step brother winning anything. Cody and Jasmine walked onto the stage. Then a woman came and whispered something in the head master's ear. "Students! Your attention again please!" The head master said. "The couple on the stage have actually been voted as the worst couple. They get the award of dunces of the ball!" The head master put cones with red D's on their heads. I have to admit it was really funny, especially since it was my brother. "Anyway," the head master continued, "The winning couple for the king and queens competition is Amy-Anne Adams and Aaron Baxter!" Amy and Aaron walked onto the stage with a proud look on their faces. They were both given matching crowns and sashes. They linked arms and Amy kissed Aaron cheek. "And now the runners up, your prince and princess of the ball are...... Hannah Parkinson and Blake Baxter!" The head master announced. Hannah and Blake walked onto the stage in excitement and were also given crowns and sashes. They all hugged and smiled at the applauding crowd. Amy and Aaron went to the dance floor and danced and a few minutes later Hannah and Blake joined them.

As I watched the couples join in some guy walked up to me and said "May I have this dance?" I was not going to dance with some stranger and even if I knew him I wouldn't. "uh... I don't dance." I said about to walk away when he grabbed my arm. "Come on, just one dance?" He said trying to make me move to the dance floor. "No! I can't dance!" I said pretty loud, well loud enough so Amy could here. "Well I can show you." The mysterious guy said calmly. "Look I don't dance. Also I don't know you." I stated. "What don't you remember me? Am I that forgettable?" He said as he took off his mask, I honestly didn't know what was going on. "Look sorry I don-" I started to say but he wasn't taking no for an answer. "Look can I have one dance with a beautiful girl like yourself?" I seriously wanted to punch him but I was trying not to hurt anyone. "why me?" I said not knowing what else to say. "Because who wouldn't fall in love at the first sight of you?" He whispered. "WOAH WHAT?! Look I don't believe in love!" I said and I think Tori heard.... Wait.... Tori, that's it! He must have got us mixed up. "Uh... Look I think you have the wrong girl." I said as I took him to Tori. "Wait! Twins!?" He looked really confused. "Yup, it looks like you got the wrong girl. I mean is it that hard to tell us apart?" I asked. "Yea, seriously?" Tori asked. "Uh.... I- I don't know.... I didn't realise you had a twin." He implied. "Well it's a good job I was gonna dye my hair then ain't it?" I mentioned. "Wait you were?" Tori looked at me as if I was loosing my mind. "Well yeah... But we'll talk about that later cause you two should go have fun while I go and talk to Cody." I told them and walked off looking for Cody.

I was wandering around the ball room looking for Cody but I couldn't see him anywhere, to be honest he probably went back to his room since he did get humiliated in front of the whole school.

Suddenly I heard a voice through the microphone on the stage. It was Aaron. "Can I have everyone's attention?" He asked the crowd. "My life has been different since the start of this year, as it has been for all of us. I have finally felt comfortable with who I am. There is one person in my life who makes me smile every time I see her. Which is why, on this stage I would like to ask Miss Amy-Anne Adams to do me the pleasure of being my girlfriend?" Aaron announced in front of the whole school. Amy walked onto the stage smiling"I'd love to." She said and kissed him. They both walked off stage and they started dancing again. They danced all night, even when people started to clear out.

About an hour after the ball had finished I was sat on the stage in the silent ball room. My mask and my tiara was next to me and my shoes were on the floor. It was nice to be alone since it's been loud and crowded all night.

I was kicking my legs and looking at the ceiling when I heard a familiar voice "Hey, Lizzie." I turned around to see Jacob Hastings, from my previous school. "Why are you here and what do you want?" I asked bluntly. "Come here." He said. "Why?" I feel like this is a set up or something. "Please." I stand up and slowly walk towards him. "What?" He hugs me and when I try to get out of his grasp he just hugs me tighter. "Get off." I tell him. "Lizzie..." He says calmly, "I missed you." He goes to kiss me but I punch him in the face, which will most likely make a bruise. "Yeah well I certainly didn't miss you." I say getting my things and walking off the stage. "Lizzie, wait." He runs after me. I stop and turn to face him "No Jacob. Leave me alone." I walk out of the ball room and into the court yard. I walk to the fountain in the middle of it and sit on the edge. Jacob had followed me and I knew he wasn't planning to stop. "Lizzie please-" he started before I interrupted. "No Jacob! There is nothing between us!" I stand up and I'm about to walk away when I slip and am about to fall into the fountain when....

Jacob catches me.

I knew what he was doing and it wasn't going to work. He pulled me close to his chest and our lips were only an inch apart. He gently kissed me but I pulled away. I didn't want to be near him. All I want to do is punch him in the face! "I don't want to see you Jacob." I state. "I'm sorry. About everything." He actually thinks he can apologize and everything will be okay, well he's wrong! I walk to Hannah's room but this time he didn't follow me. I opened the door as quietly as possible to see Tori asleep and I guessed Amy and Hannah to be in there rooms. I closed the door and sat on the sofa. A tear fell down my face but I whipped it away. My eyes start to feel heavy. I slowly fall asleep.
