Marry shot up. She was drenched in sweat and her heartbeat pulsed through her body sluggishly. Immediately Seto leapt up from his seat. He looked like he had barely eaten in days, his face was pale with exhaustion and his hair was an unruly mop. Shaking, he reached a hand out toward her like he was checking she were real. Then he pulled her close to him and they clung to each other.

Panic surged through her in a tidal wave. "Where is he! Where am I! Why..."

Seto placed a firm hand on hers. "It's okay. You're fine."

  She frowned.  "What happened?"

He sighed sadly. "You've been in a coma for three weeks."

Blood thrummed in Marry's ears. It had been three weeks? Since when? She looked at herself in a hospital gown, and vaguely noticed the rest of the Mekakushi Dan pressed against the window.

"When did it happen?" She asked casually.

"Three weeks ago. I asked you to be my girlfriend and you fainted. Then when you didn't wake up we took you to the doctor and you had something wrong with you. It's okay though," he smiled, "they didn't do a scan."

Three weeks. That nagged at Marry's mind. Why was it bothering her so much? Because it seemed to her like it had been three years since that day. That day when she woke up and felt different. A coma. Koruha wasn't real. The snake was dead.

She heaved a huge sigh of relief. She snuggled into the pillows and started laughing and crying at the same time. Seto patted her head.

"I'm guessing something happened in your dream?" he grinned.

"I watched too much TV, I'm guessing, because some weird stuff happened." she smiled sitting up.

The next night, Seto carried her home on his back, the old Seto again, who wasn't worried or thin. The rest of the -dan followed. Or rather, Shintaro was on his phone, Konoha was eating a Kebab, Kano was carrying Kido (to much protest) and Momo was singing. Hibiya dragged his feet along the ground as he trudged behind them.

Something still felt strange to Marry. That snake may not be real, she thought, but it was in her mind. Perhaps controlling her dreams... her thoughts...

She shook the thought from her mind. The past few years felt like a hazy dream. Just waking up from another bad nightmare.

She clenched her eyes shut, clinging to Seto. Forget it, she told herself, just forget everything. You're safe now. But the monster inside her smiled.

'Yes, little monster. Forget everything. And you'll belong to me.'
