After I went to go check on Laura and look at myself from the bathroom, I came out to see everyone looking in a direction of a man and a couple of his dates he was holding onto and acted all ghetto. He took a glass of wine and drunk it down hungrily. I was mainly disgusted by the way he was slapping girls' behinds acting like he ran the place. I laughed to myself at his so called "dab" and went over to Lucious and the others, who looked like they didn't like the man's presence here. I hear they called him "Shyne" or something.
"I'm outta here, L." Rosey complained, making Lucious and Cookie try to stop him from leaving.
"No, no, no, no. Come on." Lucious pleaded.
"No, no, no, no, no. Come with us into the other room." Cookie said to him. They all went in the other room, leaving and passing me to stay with the Lyon boys.
I pointed behind me with confusion.
"Do I want to know what was that?" I asked towards Jamal.
"Nah, I think you don't want to know. I don't even know either." Jamal stated.
I chuckled and wavered towards Hakeem,
"So, ready for this, Hakeem?" I asked him. Hakeem nodded proudly,
"Hell yeah. I always wanted this moment to happen, Ve." Hakeem fixed his tux.
Jamal snorted,
"Yeah, if you didn't have Laura, you would've thought differently and wouldn't have the balls to do it." Jamal said to his brother. Hakeem glared at him,
"Well thanks for pointing that out, bro. Yo punkass ain't getting married, if I recall." Hakeem stated.
I shook my head and sighed.
"Well, it's time to ring the bells. We better get in our positions, Keem." I said to him, making him smile and nod firmly.
As everyone went to their seats, Jamal got ahold of me and pulled me back to him once again. He looked like he wanted to say something more important.
"What, Jamal?" I said annoyed. Jamal seemed to be hesitating on what he wanted to say, but managed to say it.
"Look, I need to talk to you tonight about....you know....us." Jamal said silently, hoping no one would hear us.
I sighed frustrated,
"Jamal, now is not the time for that. It's your brother's big day, and I don't want to ruin it with our problems. I'll come later, okay?"
"I thought you said you had to leave after Hakeem's wedding?" Jamal said confused. I took a halt at that thought. Was I really going to leave? Or was I just leaving because my damn selfishness and anger? To tell the truth, Jamal and the others never left me. Me on the other hand, I had always left them when they needed me the most. Cookie was right, I was just acting like a coward secretly in my own mind. Lucious even told me himself that they needed me, and that's saying something.
"No, J. I'm not leaving." I sighed in defeat, making him smile in relief.
"You guys need me. I promise I won't leave you. I made a complete promise to have your back...and I won't break that. I was only frustrated and angry about our relationship and the drama that I didn't think about everyone's feelings that I might affect. And I know that now...." I showed him my promise ring, taking him to look at it with a genuine smile.
"Me too." He said, also showing his promise wristband and we fist bumped each other.
"Good. Now if you'll excuse me, I need to get in my position." I quickly got away from him, but stopped and turned to him with a hug, which made him taken aback.
