The next couple of weeks went by pretty fast. I was now an honors student. That's right, I was the first in every class. As awesome as it would sound, it did piss off a few students....well, mostly Hermione. She tried to hide her annoyance, but everyone saw through it. But I didn't feel bad about it. My favourite class, however, was Astronomy. Partially, because we would have it at midnight, every Wednesday. Harry couldn't understand why I liked it so much. He thought it was boring. For me, it was illuminating. I have developed a love for the stars when I was 5 years old, and my father used to show me all the constellation. We would sneak out every night, past our sleeping mother, and sit on the grass in our yard, watching the stars. That's when I got really close to my dad. We used to have our inside jokes about everything. You could see clearly that my mother was jealous of us, but I didn't mind it.
My first astronomy class at Hogwarts was unforgettable. I got to show off in front of my classmates, as all of them knew next to nothing about astronomy. The one person whom I didn't think to see there, was Draco. I was extremely surprised when I laid my eyes on him. He looked up from his books, the stars shining in his eyes. I quickly turned around and found a place next to a Hufflepuff girl. She introduced herself and we got on well. Her name was Luna. As the class started, I felt I was being watched, but I didn't look around to see who it was.
Nothing worth telling happened until the end of October. Why the end of October, you might ask. Well, because, on the 31st of October, we celebrated Halloween. I was dazed when Hermione asked me, two days before the party, what I was going to wear. I looked at her wide-eyed and said
"What do you mean, at the Halloween party?"
"We do have one every year." she answered as I was supposed to know that.
"Hermione!! I had no idea! Why wouldn't you tell me earlier?" I yelled in her face, throwing my hands in exasperation.
"Calm down." she said, walking away.
"Calm down?! Halloween is my favourite holiday! I'm supposed to come up with a costume in two days?" I ran after her.
"Oh, Ange. Come, I'll help you with your costume." We walked to our dorm room.
"What are you going as?" I asked her, sitting on my bed and taking out my wand from my back pocket.
"Me? Well, I'm going as Helena Ravenclaw." she said proudly.
"What do you think I should go as? I seriously have no idea." I took of my shoes and crossed my legs on the bed.
"You can go as Rowena Ravenclaw! The we can be sisters!" she cheered.
"Um...I'm not so sure about that. Maybe I can go as another founder." I suggested.
She looked disappointed, but after she thought about it, she kinda liked the idea.
"Well, Helga Hufflepuff is out of the question. You look nothing like her. And I don't think you want to be a man.....I don't think there anybody left...."
"Then.." I started but I was interrupted by a serious Hermione.
"If only....wait here!" she dashed out the door. I wanted to yell after her but she was out so fast I didn't have time.
After a few minutes, I heard someone provoke the people in the common room.
"Sorry, sorry!" Hermione shouted from our room.
"Where were you?" I asked her.
"The library. I found your costume." she answered excited.
"What?" I sat up, intrigued. She was holding a thick, dusty book.
