Killer Magic: Demon Secrets

Chapter 5

I opened up a portal and crashed through onto the floor on the other side.

"Reiden!"

"Reiden!"

"Oh my god Reiden!" I scream and start crying. He can't die now not now! No, no, no!!

"Mairead what, hap- oh my." Reiden said in shock and ran fast to ward us.

"We - they - Tugo." I managed between sobs. As soon as Reiden heard me say Tugo, he jumped up, leaving my sobbing self and my dying friend alone. He came back with me vile of black liquid that smelt like sugar, but if you focused you could smell something only described as death. I knew what this was. I can't do this now.

"No I can't do this now." I whisper, my voice hoarse from my screaming and crying.

"It's either this or else he dies." Reiden stated

"I know." I take a breath, "ok, do it."

He pours the smallest amount of the liquid in Conhghall mouth and we wait. Soon his body starts to shake, we jump back and I stand ready with so much magic built up in my arms it crackles at my fingertips. Reiden is in the corner out of view so that the demon won't see him. That's right. We're pulling out Conhghall's demon. The only thing that take save him from death is either I let him drink my blood, but that would pull out his angle side and that's probably worse. But if we let him drink demon blood, it will bring forth his demons, letting it fight the poison then I will kill it, sending it back to a sleeping state within him.

after I few minutes of Conhghall shaking and moving on the floor, he arches his back and then I black form come out of him, turning into what looks like Conhghall, but has almost pure black eyes and his skin and hair is slightly darker. He turns to me had growls at me, in a way that I can't tell if it is sexual or anger. he approaches me and that's when I move my hands up and push as much power as I can though them, hitting the demon right in the chest. It hisses in pain.

"We always wanted you, and now that we know you're a fae, we really want you." is hissed at me, still clearly dying. This enraged me even more, making me burst with energy, hitting it and consuming the demon with my power. I controlled my purple magic into a ball around him and compress it with all my might, until it suddenly gives way and collapses into a bead of intense energy. I take that bead and let it absorb into Conhghall skin. That will give him energy to fight, and something to let his demon side take root again. Suddenly I feel very weak and drop to my knees.

"Reiden." I whisper before I black out.

I wake up on a couch and panic for a second, before I realize I'm on Reiden couch. I sit up and look around for him and hear him in the kitchen humming a tune. I smile before I walk to the door and look in to see him humming and two stepping with him mate Ablaail. I smile at them and only hope that my mate will find someone else. They stop dancing, and look at each other, Ablaail giving him a peck on the cheek before returning to the dishes and him to the pot on the wood stove. I realize how dark it is here and decide to lighten things up a bit. I give some power to the torches, causing Ablaail to gasp slightly and Reiden to grin.

"How do you feel?" he asks as he plants a kiss on my head. I smile at the soft touch. He and Ablaail have been parents to me since Ablaail found me dying in the forest, they had just lost her own pup and I was like a replacement.

"I'm a little weak, but otherwise good. How is Conhghall?" I asked, hoping I saved him.

"Oh, he is fine, from what Reiden said you did amazing. You should be proud that you can do that, not many faes can do that, or have that much power." Ablaail said with a proud smile giving me a huge hug, which I leaned into, letting the wait fall off my shoulders for a while. Ablaail walked me over to a chair and sits me down while she finishes the dishes. She finishes the dishes, and sits next to me.
