Reoccuring

"I had no idea that you're in deep, I dreamt about you nearly every night this week."

"I love you, Dylan" She spoke.

He woke up with a start. His heart was pounding, he couldn't catch his breath. He sat up and held his head in his hands. Sighing, he thought about the reoccurring dream he had been having.

Her. She was all he could think about. You. The way your hair felt, the way your eyes sparkled when you spoke about something you were interested in. The way you could entrance him without trying. You. The way you smiled when he complimented you. The way he had fallen for you. You. You. You.

All that was on his mind was you.

And yet, he had let you go.

-

"I'm having trouble trying to sleep, as time ticks by, still I try."

He huffed.

Two hours had gone by. There was officially no way for him to sleep. You, his ex, flooded every inch of his mind. He missed you. Your lively laugh, and the way you could brighten any situation.

Sighing, he gave into the delirium and reached for his phone, and, for the thousandth time, wrote out that same message.

"I miss you, I'm sorry"

He took a deep breath, and sent it. Knowing it was extremely late, and you probably wouldn't reply until morning only furthered his anxiety.

-

"All my life, there you go. Oh, please stay, just this once."

You woke up at the loud sound your phone emitted. Sighing, you rubbed your eyes and reached for the cell phone, turning down the brightness before even attempting to read the message.

"I miss you, I'm sorry"

Your heart stopped. Finally, after the past month of crying and missing him. You smiled and typed the reply.

"I know. I miss you, too."

The two of you continued the conversation over a call, sorting everything out, and calming Dylan down.
