She was a successful career woman. She did things to achieve her dreams and gave blood, sweat and tears to reach the top of her career.

But the thing is, she never messes with her life. Taking risks and living the moment were teenage fantasies she had outgrown, along with romance and dating.

Listening to the loud club music is giving her migraine. Why do everybody like staying here just to go home wasted and temporarily deaf, anyway?

"What do you think of this drawing?"

Funny, she heard that quite well.

"What-"

She has to stop what she was saying. This stranger's face is too close to her shoulder she can see the blue specks in this stranger's green eyes.

"Sorry. I need to get close so you could hear me."

Great. Another too friendly, alcohol-filled brain, neon lights attractive guy wearing.....a tux?

Should she entertain this man? The tux got her attention to him.

Well. She has tomorrow off anyways. Maybe this guy could be her key to leave this noisy place. Her brother couldn't talk back if he would see she will be leaving with a guy. He would be ecstatic.

"Lilian."

"Marcus."

Those eyes though. She could just stare at them and be swooned, no alcohol needed.

"What was that you were asking again?"

He kept staring at her eyes too, two heartbeats longer than she did. He even shook his head in exasperation as if something amused him. "I have this drawing here." His voice came out too husky that he cleared it two times before continuing, "My nephew asked me the same question and I seem to have given the wrong answer. He made me leave the wedding reception to find the right answer. He has my car keys. I didn't even realize until I walked three blocks."

That was a long explanation. She's not sure if she would reject his lame pick-up line or believe him and help.

Rejecting him would mean another boring hour in this wretched noisy place and helping him would mean she could leave but be entitled to accompany him until he gets boring.

She should just have to pick the lesser of two evils.

"One second."
