"I thought this was supposed to be a vacation leave, Dr. Bowman. Resignation is a way longer period of vacation."

Dr. House's sarcasm never gets old. She couldn't help being amused by the fact that this sarcasm would be one of the rare things she would miss about this place.

"I'm quite ready to surrender my position to somebody else you can train easily, Dr. House. After that long vacation leave, you wouldn't like to see me back ruining your bullying system again."

He grinned and stood, tapped her shoulder and looked at her in the eye, "You're right. Besides, not long after you come back from that wedding, you would take a leave of absence again for your condition."

She blinked in surprise, "Doctor, I-"

"Good luck, Ice Queen. Take over the world with your.....feminine.....dreams of helping strangers and be alone in your ivory tower."

She nodded after a long time, "Thank you, Dr. House."

Just before she closed the door she heard him say, "And don't take your hermit dream too seriously, it's childish!"

Too bad, its not childish for her.

Its been 2 weeks of hell after she left.

It was like Marcus' life shutted down the moment she stormed out, said those cryptic words and left him bewildered.

He had no idea why she said that.

He drained out his time wondering about possible reasons and the resulting ideas all sounded stupid.

He couldn't concentrate at work, he wants to shoot his model airplanes and burn his studio in unexplained anger, maybe add his bed to the pile to complete the bonfire.

He cannot even look at a blue-eyed brunette lady without having the urge to kidnap her and ask her why it happened. Then get humiliated by himself afterwards for thinking that all brunettes were Lillian Bowman.

He is so frustrated, so infuriated and so.........sad.

Marcus wanted her back. So bad.

"Uncle?"

He almost didn't notice the presence of his nephew watching Lion King on TV beside him.

"Yeah?"

"I think I need to see my doctor tomorrow. I have been missing my shots for a week now. The babysitter always forgets to check the calendar."

He looked at his nephew with guilty concern, "Sorry. We'll go tomorrow, then."

"Uncle Marcus, you can ask Dr. Anabelle about your hermit girlfriend too."

He mentally punched himself for not thinking about Dr. Anabelle Hunt, that single link that connected them both.

"Yeah. Great idea Simon." He patted the boy's head, then paused, "How did you know about my.....hermit girl?"

"You were sketching her face for a while now. And you have a lot of drawings of that lady's face in your studio. I asked you about her too and you told me she was your hermit girl."

"Did I?"

"Yeah, last night." Simon shrugged nonchalantly on the weirdness on his Uncle's behavior.

Marcus was about to ask how did it happen, then decided against it.

He couldn't believe how much he was in a daze these days.

"Right. Let's see Dr. Anabelle Hunt tomorrow."

But its not gonna happen. He has purpose now.

He's getting her back.
