It was a risk putting my arm around him. But he didn't seem to mind. I continued watching the movie, until I heard light snoring. I look down to see little Jack curled up in my arms, sleeping. I tightened my grip, as if I were to let him go he would leave. I placed my head on his and lost the concept of the movie. Soon I was asleep.
I was the first to wake up. I woke up to Tom taping my shoulder. He moved his hand, urging me to follow him. I sighed and gently put Jack down. I thought about kissing his forehead but decided not to. I follow tom to the kitchen.
"So you guys together?" He said, pretty loudly. I hushed him, scared that Jack would wake up.
"No but I like him." I said looking to the ground.
"I figured." Tom said with a chuckle. I wanted to punch him but I heard a slight whimper coming from my room. I dashed upstairs seeing Jack thrashing around in his sleep. Must be a bad dream. I walk up to him and wrap both my arms around him. "It's ok Jack. Wake up. It's just a dream." I said. He woke up with tears running down his face. He sobbed into my chest and I ran my finger in circles on his back. I hummed and soon he stopped crying.
"What was that about?" I said as he pulled away.
"I-it was j-just a b-bad dream." He stuttered out. "I have to go." I nodded and handed Jack his backpack. It was dark so I decided to walk him home. One he was there safely, I came back home. I showered and got changed. I crawled into bed and scrolled through social media. Just junk. I said to myself. Suddenly I got a text and it was Jack. My heart skipped a beat.
Jack:thank you 4 helping me when I woke up
Mark:np man. Btw u do realize that we have met before. On whisper.
Jack:yeah I know man. So glad that I can talk to u face-to-face. Gtg gotta get some sleep.
Mark:ok goodnight jackaboy
Jack:lol jackaboy?!
Mark:lol yeah that's ur new nickname
Jack:lol ok goodnight Markimoo
Mark:touché
Mark plugged his phone in and soon fell asleep thinking of Jack. He couldn't wait to see him tomorrow.
