Luke

*Age 4 (Preschool)*

"(Y/N), meet Luke; he just moved in next door!" I looked around my mommy's leg to see a boy with pretty blonde hair looking at from behind his mommy's leg too. I smiled and waved at him and saw him smile before he hid behind his mommy. My mommy took my hand and pulled me out from behind her, walking us both closer to the boy. His mom pulled him out too, pushing him closer to me, "Why don' t you two go outside and play in the backyard?" His mommy asked. I smiled, "Okay!" I grabbed his hand, running out the door with him. "What do you wanna do?" I asked him. "I dunno," he said quietly. "I'm going on the slide!" I yelled, running towards it. I ran up the steps and giggled my whole way down. Luke was at the end, laughing. "What's so funny?" I asked. He poked my cheek, still laughing, "You have holes in your cheeks!" I giggled and poked his cheek, "You do too!" "We should be best friends, you know that?" He said. "Yeah!" I agreed. He grabbed my hand, running to the other side of the backyard. "Where are we going?" "We're gonna make cupcakes!" He yelled, smiling again. "But mommy makes those inside, how do we make them out here?" I frowned. He just laughed, "Silly! These are special cupcakes!" And he sat down in the dirt and started scooping it up in his hands. "Come on, sit down!" I sat down next to him, "How do we do this?" "Just grab some of this stuff and put it in your hands and try to make it look like a cupcake! It's fun!" I did what he said and he was right! It is fun! "Look! We finished them!" He said. "I wanna go show mommy," I said, "Let's go!" I got up and ran towards the house, carrying my cupcake. "Mommy! Look! We made cupcakes! Can we eat them?" Luke asked, running in beside me. Our mommies started laughing and came over to us, "Here, give us those," my mommy said, "Get cleaned up and then you can!" "Okay!" We ran to the bathroom and washed our hands before running back out, "Where are they mommy?" Our mommies handed us both cupcakes, smiling, "These aren't the ones you made, they just looked too good! We couldn't help ourselves! But you can have the ones we made for us, okay?" "Okay!" We both said, laughing.

I was sitting at lunch with my best friend, (Y/BFF/N), when she said something that surprised me, "Luke is really cute, don't ya think?" "Luke Hemmings?" I asked. She nodded, "Yeah! He's so cute!" She looked over at the table that he was sitting at, surrounded by his friends. "Eh, he's not that cute..." I said. She gasped, "What!? How do you not think he's cute?" "It's kind of hard to think of someone who used to be like your brother as cute..." I told her. "Yeah I gue- wait, 'Like your brother'?" "Yeah, me and him used to hang out like everyday for like 6 years, you didn't know that?" She slapped my arm, "No! Why didn't you tell me?" She complained. I shrugged, "I dunno, it was never brought up I guess," I said. "Why don't you guys talk anymore?" She asked, obviously not ready to drop the conversation. "Again, I don't know, we just kind of drifted apart I guess..." She groaned, "Why must that have happened, you could have hooked me up!" She said, a little too loud. I smacked her arm, "Just drop it! It doesn't even really matter! Eat your food, and hurry, lunch is almost over."

*Age 15 (9th Grade)*

I was sitting at my desk in my room, doing my History homework when my mom yelled up the stairs, "(Y/N) you have a friend here to see you!" I groaned, all my friends know I'm doing my make-up work, why did they need to come over? I walked down the stairs anyways and towards the front door, "Who ever it is I already tol-" I stopped when I saw who it was. "Luke, what are you doing here?" I asked. "Um, hey (Y/N)," he scratched the back of his neck, "Can we talk outside? Please?" I sighed, "Uh, yeah, I guess," I said. He smiled and I put on slippers and followed him out the door. "So uh, it's been awhile, yeah?" He asked, awkwardly. "Yeah..." I said, "So, what'd you come here for?" "Right uh," he took a small step closer to me, "I'm just gonna come right out with this, okay?" I nodded, "Okay." He sighed, "I've loved you forever, you know that, but I actually started liking you as more when we were six and our moms were teaching us to ride bikes and you had to covince me to actually try because I was too scared, that's when I noticed it. Over the years it just turned into a bigger and bigger crush, I would always be looking at your gorgeous eyes, by the end of 5th grade I was trying to convince myself that since you didn't like me that I shouldn't like you either, that's the main reason I stopped talking to you in middle school, to try and get over you. I dated other girls but none of it worked and it still hasn't; it's been nine years," he took a step closer, "And I'm still completely," a step closer, "Utterly," he was standing right in front of me, "And one hundred percent," He put his hand on my face, running his thumb over my cheek before moving his face closer to mine, "In love with you." He moved even closer and I could feel his breath on my face before he finally closed the gap, kissing me. I pulled back, resting my forehead on his, "I love you, too, Luke," I said, before kissing him again.
