Chapter 13: Full Moon

[Third person POV]

James, Sirius, and Peter watched their werewolf friend transform. It looked very painful, they all concluded.

Remus thrashed around as soon as he got outside, Sirius had to carry him to the Whomping Willow's hidden nook, and all the way to the Shreiking Shack. Sirius's warm hands nearly distracting him from the bain of transforming. Almost doing it. Nearly stopping it. 'Please make it stop'  Remus pleads with an invisible force to make it stop, to have him be normal. To have things change and be good again. To be normal again."Please make it stop' Is Remus's last consious thought before his body takes over, before the beast takes over his body.

Sirius feels Remus give in. He feels Remus go limp as he walks through the tunnel toward the Shreiking Shack. Sirius pushes his legs to go faster, as fast as they can possibly go. He needs to get Remus to the safest spot for a werewolf. Away from civilization. Sirius is worried that he will not make it. Sirius keeps running, and if it were possible, he would run faster. 'Almost there' Sirius thinks as a soft thin fur begins to grow on Remus. 'I'm not fast enough' Sirius thinks as he runs faster and faster pushing himself to extents he didnt know were possible. Sirius can see the light of the end of the tunnel as he hears a small whimper come from Remus.

James and Peter took the surface way to the Shreiking Shack, in animagus form. James as the handsome stag with large antlers, and Peter as the fat rat those of you that have read the Harry Potter series, would know as Scabbers, with all of his toes still in tact. Peter sits on James's head, because it is way faster that way, and because you cannot expect the one and only Peter Pettigrew to actually run. No way.

James pushes himself. they have to get there fast. Remus was already changing, and there was only a limited time until he would explode into a werewolf. His hooves hit the ground faster, faster, and faster still. A plus of being a stag. Added muscle in your legs. Quidditch helped slightly too, and Rugby with Sirius in the summer. Sometimes Remus would play, but not usually. Pushing the memory out of his brain, James pushed himself as far as possible to get there as fast as possible.

Sirius was huffing and puffing when he slammed the front door of the Shreiking Shack locking Remus inside. Hopefully until sunrise. 'Why aren't James and Peter here yet?' Sirius wonders, sitting on the front step of the shack. He hears the sound of James's hooves hitting the ground.

Almost here.

Almost there.

A howl reverberates off the trees. It's coming from the shack.

Remus dissapears into a dark abyss once again.

---------------------------------

Sirius wakes up after a long night of protecting the shreiking shack. A soreness sets into his limbs. He really pushed it this time. He pushes himself off of the floor, and bounds to the room where he knows Remus must be. Peeking into the room, he sees Remus sleeping on the torn and tattered bed, stark naked.

Sirius's cheeks flush with a red-hot heat. He couldn't take his eyes off of Remus's sleeping form. His shoulders slightly bruized and his body lean but muscled. It was a sexy twist of thin and muscular. It was perfect. Sirius has seen a lot of nudity in his days, but this had to be the most beautiful naked body he had ever seen.

Sirius loomed in the doorway, leaning against the doorframe, debating on weather to go in, or shut the door and leave. James was long gone by now, Sirius figured, probably not wanting Lily to suspect anything.

Lily was a smart girl, and she would figure it out eventually. She would figure out that every month around the full moon the Marauders escaped the school, and no pranks were pulled. Classes were dull. The common room was quiet. The dormitories were clean, although not too clean because that would be an insult to the boy's slight slobbishness. She would find out about the doggish personality that Sirius had adapted into, the peeveishness of a rat found in Peter (not that anyone paid much attention to Peter when he wasnt eating their food), and the pride of a stag with huge antlers in James (compensation maybe?). She would most deffinitly eventually notice the moodyness of one Remus Lupin around the full moon, and she would most deffinitley notice the tremors that racked through his body the day before the Full Moon.

Remus stirred in his makeshift bed and moaned something that had Sirius right at attention.

"Softest Hair."

Sirius assumed that he was talking about Marlene. He couldnt help but to feel a slight pull on his heart, and he could feel the sting of newly forming tears in the corners of his eyes. Sirius began to think about the random sudden attraction of Remus to Marlene. Remus had never brought anything up about her, ever until the day she asked him to Hogsmeade. In fact, Remus hadnt even spared a glance at her ever. Not that he was paying attention to that, but Remus sat in front of he Hufflepuff table, and some really cute girls sat behind him. Remus's eyes never shifted to even the general direction of Marlene. Not even once. So what happened in Hogsmeade that changed this? That changed the empty space next to Remus's seat, into Marlene's personal haven?

Then it hit him. She must have put a love potion on him! That's what was up with the sudden random obsession with Marlene. But how did she do it? How did she get Remus, one of the brightest wizards of our age, to take a dose of love potion? Did she, in a sudden desperate attempt, slip it into his butterbeer? Did she put it into powder form and sprinkle it on his food? Who knows, Sirius concluded, all that matters is that it happened and that now I have to wake Remus from Marlene's fantasy world.

How could he possibly do that?

An idea suddenly popped into his head.

Sirius walked into the room, and shut the door behind him. He creeped slowly to the bed where Remus lay. He touched Remus's shoulder and Remus stirred.

Remus was not aware of what he was doing. He felt hands caressing his body, and he groaned. It felt soo good. Remus felt heat suddenly consume him. He then realized something someone was naked in bed with him. Remus spun around quickly and crushed his lips to theirs. They were hesitant at first, but eventually their lips moved in perfect synchronization.
