We waltzed through the doors of the castle as if nothing happened. We were in uniform and Sirius was apparently dying of starvation. When isn't he though?
He is by far, the most dramatic. God knows why, probably because he was banished from his family.
But anyway, we're here in the castle pretending we were never gone. It was going to plan actually, until we walked around the corner and saw the headmaster.
Dumbledore.
"I got this." Sirius smiled at us and walked towards him. "Dumbledore, my man." He put his arm around his shoulder. Albus slowly looked at Sirius' arm.
"Get. Your. Arm. Off. Me. Now." Dumbledore replied calmly. Sirius removed his arm awkwardly. "Where have you boys been?" He asked.
"We went for a walk." I lied. "Around the grounds. They've not changed one bit since our day." I lied again.
"Was it a nice stroll?" He asked.
"Oh yes, defiantly." I said less convincingly.
"Don't suppose you chaps went to Hogsmeade did you?" He asked.
"No." James replied.
"Oh, well I was going to say that local wizards saw some rare mammals last night."
"Really?" Sirius asked.
"Yea, do you want to know what they were?" He asked. The two boys were intrigued, I caught on to what he was doing.
"No." James replied.
"Liars." Dumbledore replied bluntly. "By the names of Remus John Lupin, James Potter and Sirius Black." He stared at us.
"Those are some nice names." James replied.
"Please, it's past your time of jokes and sarcasm."
"Dumbledore?" A familiar female voice called.
"Lucie." Dumbledore turned to Lucie and smiled. "I know you've met my student Lucie."
"Yea, we have." The three of us said.
"I'm Lucie Waterson." She held out her hand. I shook it in reply, the boys merely stared at her in surprise.
"She's been spying on you boys since you arrived." Dumbledore replied.
"What house are you in?" James asked. "Gryffindor?"
"No, Ravenclaw." She replied with a smile.
"She informed me that you were going out, she followed you to Hogsmeade in animagus of a cat."
"You were the black cat?" Sirius asked. James and I both looked at him. "You didn't see her?"
"No, we did not!" James and I replied in unison.
"Oh." Sirius replied. I looked at him and just glared. "I saw her."
"You don't say?!" James replied.
"What on Earth did you think you were doing?" Dumbledore asked.
"We wanted to complete this quest and not be sent home!" James exclaimed.
"Then why do exactly what I tell you not to?" Dumbledore asked.
"Because he should know. What is gonna go wrong if he knows? We don't even know what we are supposed to be doing!" James retorted.
"My office now!" Dumbledore replied. "Lucie, go to your lessons, not one word about this!"
"Sure thing." Lucie smirked as she walked back to her lessons.
Dumbledore turned and made us follow him to his office. We walked in silence as other students looked as we walked slowly behind him, they obviously realised that we were in trouble. By the look on their faces, it meant we were in a lot of trouble.
"You boys are so incredibly stupid!" Dumbledore shouted. It took the three of us back. We had never really seen him like this, and we have done some horrid things to students. "The reason I told you not do tell them is the fact that you could possibly change future events. People may now know things that they shouldn't. You have possibly ruined the future."
"I have to correct you Dumbledore, James and I are so incredibly stupid. Lupin is by far the smartest." Sirius stated.
"Don't you dare say another word Mr Black." Dumbledore replied.
