Hey I'm Ashton. I'm 16 and I live in Los Angles.
I don't have a home anymore, so I live on the streets.
My mom left me and my dad when I was 3. I remember her and dad yelling and then she ran out of our house. Never saw her again. My dad kicked me out when I was 13 because he didn't want to have to support me anymore. So he told me to just leave.
Ever since then I've been walking the streets trying to stay alive.
Currently I'm on my way to the skate park. It's about noon and that's when these group of guys come by to skate. One dude, Damien, brings his other board so I can skate.
These guys are my best friends. Not only are they just fun to hang with but Damien brings me lunch. Also, on nights that his parents are both working he lets me go to his house to shower.
When I arrive to the park I see that the guys had just got there because they were setting down their bags and getting ready to skate. When I get to their table I see that Damien brought me Subway. He usually brings me left overs of what his family had for dinner the night before.

"Whoa! Subway?" I say laughing.

"Yeppy. But you only get half because I haven't eaten since lunch yesterday." Damien says while giving me half.

"Whut! Why?" I say and stuff my face with the most delicious thing I've ever eaten.
I've never had Subway before, or food from any fast food place or restaurant. My dad only ever got groceries to make sandwiches because he liked to waste the majority of his money on beer and drugs.

"Me and my parents were fighting again last night and I got so mad that I just left for an hour or two. When I got back I was too lazy to make myself anything. And I never eat breakfast so I'm really hungry now." He says finishing his half. Dang I know he was hungry but that was fast.

After we eat we start skating. I don't know how to do any flips or tricks so I just ride around.
We skate for about 5 hours and then we all just lay in the grass talking.
Everything was fine until we heard police sirens coming toward the skate park. What the heck was going on? Two of Damien's friends get up and bolt down the street. The rest of us just look around. We have no idea what's happening but police cars surround the park.

"Everyone on your knees with your hands up!" One of the policemen yell through a megaphone.

There was three other people plus me and Damien. We did as we were told but we were still confused.

The police, with their guns in hand, slowly walk toward us and toward our bags over on the table.

"What's going on? Are we under a-arrest?" One of Damien's friends say. I never bothered to remember any ones name except Damien's by the way.

"You're not unless we find something. You got something you want to confess?" The policeman in front of us said.

"N-no I just want to know what's going on." The same dude said. You could tell in his voice that he's never been in a situation like this and he was really scared.

I've never been in trouble with the police before either but I'm not scared.

"We received an anonymous call saying that some kids at the skate park were selling drugs. You know anything about that?"
A policemen answered.

"No sir. We've just been skating and talking. We haven't done anything like that or seen any body else here today." Damien replies.

The police check our bags and walk through the park but found nothing. They all left except two.

"C'mon it's getting late. Y'all want a ride home?"
One of the officers said.

One dude said he lived right down the street so he walked home and the other two said they were staying at his house so they went with him.

"Okay what about you two?" The other officer said.

"I live two streets away and she lives on the next street over so I'll take her home but thanks." Damien said gabbing my bag and his and we headed to his car.

Damien's parents worked tonight so I actually went to his house to get cleaned up and then we watched a movie. He fell asleep during the movie but I finished watching it and then left locking his front door on my way out.
I was walking to this place where homeless people can crash at night. The people there are not too bad. They mostly keep to themselves and don't bother anyone else, so that's good.
But on the way there a police car passed me. I just ignored it but when it stopped and a guy stepped out, I got scared. You hear stories about people stealing police cars. What if this was one of those times? I froze where I was. The dude walked up to me and that's when I realized it was an actual cop, but it was a cop from the skate park incident earlier. Shit.

"Shouldn't you be at home?" The cop said while crossing his arms.

"Uh yea about that..."
And that's all I said as I turned around and ran in the opposite direction.
